Wayne Routledge Moves To QPR

Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the signing of former Spurs and now Villa winger Wayne Routledge.

The 23-year-old had been on loan at Cardiff where he has impressed but the London club have beaten them to the punch taking Wayne on a three and a half year deal.

The fee is undisclosed for the player we bought from Spurs last January.

Good luck Wayne, sorry to see it didn't work out at Villa, if he could have got back to his previous best he'd have been a bargain at £1million.

He is only 23 and a long way to go - he did not get enough of a chance and did well on loan. What I would hope is that we have a massive sell on percentage included in deal because if he does as well as he could do....we could be making a massive mistake!!

good point deano, a sell on clause would be a good call! Hope he succeeds, would be a shame to see such promise come to nothing.

Never got a chance really good luck in the future wayne ...

Sounds to me like this was his big chance but he blew it because he didnt work hard enough to get into the 1st team.

'Undisclosed' means we made a loss? Can't believe QPR would pay a million for him...more like 600k? Who knows...
olafthegreat
Why does this happen? Wayne Routledge, Marlon the Hare, Nicky Shorey, remember Bosko Balaban..?? Serious money spent but not given a real chance. I guess this happens in most squads.
claretandbluestu
Improve that final ball and QPR could well have a very decent player on their hands. Maybe the premiership hasn't seen the last of young Mr Routledge. He certainly seems to have just come off a successful spell at Ninian Park, good luck to him.

I disagree that he wasn't given a chance here at B6. He most certainly was. He just continued to show the same failings at every opportunity that came his way. Be it reserve team football or on his rare first team outings, that final ball continued to let him down big-time.
glensider
He was only a panic buy anyway. What did you expect?! We need TOP 4 quality not championship potential. Goodbye and good luck

What about Millners final ball it lets him down but has not restricted his opportunities ?
B6_COMPANY
True, but milner cost 12M. Try tellin Mon he cant cross!
