1)What a season, was this what you were expecting or are you living in dream land?
I was certainly not expecting to be 7th at the turn of the year. I was hoping we would finish 17 and be there for a second season, especially after the Wigan game where we lost 5-0. Any Tigers fan would be lying if they did not agree that Hull are in dreamland at the moment in terms of the league position. Recent performances though have been erratic, one game they can be brilliant (Liverpool) and the next they can ship 4 (Sunderland). The points haul recently though has been a bit disappointing, only one win in 9 games is probably how we were expected to start at the start of the season. Recent result have probably brought a bit of reality to the season, but I`m still in dreamland Hull are 7th in the Premier League - and Leeds are in mid-table League 1. I don`t think it gets any better?
2)What do you expect for this and then the next few seasons, do you believe you can establish yourselves in the Premiership?
I think we will finish mid table this season, I do not think we will qualify for Europe, the recent comments by Boetang and our Chairman, Paul Duffen were a little mis placed. I think mid-table this season and then next season will depend on the signings that Phil Brown can attract over the summer. If we can survive this year, we will be in a better place to sign players, because like Hoffeniem in Germany, everyone has heard of Hull City now! We will also have the funds from a season in the Premier League as well.
3) The Man City game, just a blip or something that has been coming? What did you make of your managers very public humiliation of the players, surely that was a very demotivating action after the heroics they've pulled off this year?
I would like to think that the Man City game was a blip, Phil Brown said it was out of character. The players did not seem interested in the game and Man City gave us a taste of our own game. The attacked from the outset and caught us napping and ball watching. Some of the players who come up with us from the Championship may have gone off the ball a bit recently, our midfield Ashbee and Marney have both struggled recently and I think that it has been our midfield that have gone off the boil and not protected the back four like they did at the start of the season. In terms of Phil Browns on field team talk - everyone, supporters, pundits and other managers have praised Phil Brown`s man management skills this season. I do not believe he would have done it unless he felt it would have a positive effect on the team. My wife has just seen it on the news as I write this and she just thinks it was funny, I am not too sure how the players will react to being treated like school boys, hopefully they will come out with a point to prove. Only time will tell.
4) Do you fear the visit of Aston Villa after the Citeh mauling or do you think the thrashing on Boxing Day will be bad news for Villa as you bounce back?
I don`t think we need to fear anyone, it just depends which Tigers team turns up. I think Phil Brown and the players will be keen to rectify the performance against Man City and hopefully they will bounce back. Villa are a very good team and can attack, so I think it will be a high scoring game hopefully there will be a fair split of goals.
5) If you could take one or two of our players, who would they be and why?
Agbonlahor - I think he is very exciting and a great English prospect. His speed and agility is breath taking sometimes, I think he would make a great partnership with Marlon King. They are exact opposites in how they play King chesting down and distributing and Agbonlahor running on.
Gareth Barry - I think he is a perfect centre midfield player for the Premier League, hard yet skilful and not afraid to take it to a team. Like our own Captain Iain Ashbee but better
6)Who in your team should Villa be wary of?
The obvious one is Geovanni, he is probably our most dangerous player, however I would say Michael Turner is a player you should be wary of. Not only is he an exceptional defender, he is dangerous at set pieces as he is brilliant with head. He has a knack of being in the right place at the right time to nod the ball home.
7) What is your prediction for the game?
A very open end to end game and given recent results I think a draw would be a good result for Hull.A s I have already said I expect a high scoring game finishing 2-2.
