that is quite surprising - it doesn't feel that good. - but who cares its great. Even the media are having to say that Villa have broken into the big four - 'but when we talk of the big four' you know what we mean! Arrogant idiots.

The media are blowing hot and cold. Good article in the times today...........but yesterday they had a head to head BIG 4 league table (pass me a bucket). Time for the press to wake up to reality. A new order and I hope other clubs Join us. Everton showed it can be done also and Chelsea and were lucky. Everton have a similar depth of history to us, more than any of the "BIG 4", none of which began the football league..................Sorry to harp on again!

Surely for the comparison to be accurate you have to substitute the promoted teams for the relegated teams? Last season we did not lose to a relegated team and completed the double of Derby and the alliance. Whilst this season we have lost to Stoke so there are minus points there.

Good point TheQ. For me, there are two differences in the team from last season and they come in the shape of Stan Petrov and Luke Young (a recognized RB!) Unfortunately dannyvellow, I have this feeling that even if we finish in the Champion's League this season, we'll be referred to as a Top 4 side. But the usual suspects will STILL be referred to a the 'Big 4'. Boll*cks I know

Good: Unbeaten at home against 3 of the 'Big 4', first win away at a 'Big 4' team in 15 years. 6 wins out of 9 on the road. Not so Good: Need to convert home draws to wins even though teams shut up shop to stop us playing (no plan B). Shows how well we are progressing. Luke Young a great addition, and when Freddy's back he will revert to RB and we will look really solid again. Not convinced by Cuellar at all.

We've very definitely made strides forward, and as of right now, have a better squad, an improved starting line-up, and overall performances have improved.

Good research Kiwivillan, interesting observations providing food for thought. We're not where we really need to be yet, not if we want to be considered a major premiership force, but just look how much the club have moved forward in the last three years.
