This makes pleasant reading, Gabby 2nd in the leagues top scorers... maybe he can make 20 this season in the PL after all then?!

Surely that is Europe as well don't they only count in the Uefa cup ?

No way is he on 5. He wasnt booked yesterday im sure of it, and not against Everton or Bolton if memory serves me right. Any later than that and he would have served his ban today at the latest. Hes still on 4, didnt MON bring him off at Bolton because he was on 4 yellows?
Mickey_Villa
Yeh thats probably it. Just checked and Prem league have him down for 4 yellow cards http://www.premierleague.com/page/Statistics/0,,12306,00.html

was going on forthegame which is always usually decent, Click Here but also just checked the PL one and it says 4. So have amended article. Phew, panic over!
The Fear
Still a tad worrying though, as obviously one slip and he misses a game. The only league game he missed last season was by far our worst performance at Fulham away... and we had Shaun Maloney to come in then! Maybe it will be less worrying depending on who we sign in January!
Sheriff Kimbo
The Ref only has to take the opinion that he has celebrated a goal too vigorously or purposely dived (which is the way he has racked four yellows anyway) and he's banned. He's not executed one single bad tackle or tried to injured an opponent yet he has a [ossible ban hanging over his head. Bloody stupid rules!

I rather it be for him scoring anyday!!!!! As long as he's scoring!

hmm that yellow card tally may be the downfall we all fear
AussieVilla
Agree 100% with TheQ. This booking of a player for 'over-celebrating' a goal is sheer madness, and needs looking into. Its a farcical ruling. O.K., if you celebrate wildly and gesture at opposing fans, fair enough, but celebrating with your own team mates and/or supporters is surely no crime?

If too many suspensions due to an accumulation of yellow cards hits at once, it can certainly de-rail you for a game or two, but as they are sadly part and parcel of the game, there's very little you can do. They are just an accepted hazard I guess, just like injuries.
