Villa Park Coin Thrower Arrested

Villa Park Coin Thrower Arrested

The Sunday Mercury are reporting the man who threw the coin at linesman or is it assistant ref's these day, Phil Sharp. Think that is the same one who missed the handball by Gary Cahill in the Villa v Bolton game last week. I digress...

Apparently the police identified which seat the coin was thrown from and the 45-year-old man turned himself in.

The CPS will now decide what charges should be brought.

Looks at the very least the chap will have a life time ban from Villa Park and all grounds across the country and rightly so.

Snout to clever by half... a lifetime ban should be in order. If he wants to behave like a tool let him go support another club in Birmingham.

This is good news! Let's hope they give him the maximum punishment!! A Blues season ticket maybe?

I am still waiting to see how Drogba will be punished after he threw a coin at the Burnley fans, could have taken a kids eye out.

Is that still ongoing or has he been let off YJ? Glad they got this guy, stupid thing to have done, nasty nasty nasty and it wasn't fair to pull the great name of Aston Villa through the mud. Surprised no one else shopped him, then again these things happen so quickly and we all look at the pitch, so it might have been easy to miss I guess.

The guy was a complete and utter idiot, and I think that everyone connected with the club will be delighted that finally he has been arrested. Particularly as Harry Redknapp is due to make a return visit to Villa Park in the new year with Tottenham Hotspur!! Pity though that he didn't come forward earlier, rather than attempt to escape justice. Seems he was only prepared to face up to his 'crime' when the net was closing in around him. Tosser!!

What is a fit punishment though? Presumably he will be banned from Villa Park, but considering that Drogba got off relatively lightly for chucking a coin the other way so as to speak, isn't a lifetime ban a little bit over the top?

I'm not suggesting that it is you understand, I mean this sort of thing obviously cannot be tolerated, but when we say that the punishment needs to fit the crime, it really needs to. If he is banned for life from Villa Park and all other stadiums across the country, then why has Didier Drogba escaped so lightly?
