'If It's Football, It's Vital'

More On The Charles N'Zogbia Link

As I mentioned in the transfer gossip article earlier, according to the Independent, Martin O'Neill has registered an interest in France U21 and Newcastle midfielder Charles N'Zogbia. The report says his future at the club is in doubt despite signing a five-year contract last year. Not sure why his future is unsure, I'll ask the Vital Newcastle editor and get back to you!

Since then I've got in touch with the Vital Newcastle editor Ross who is always quick to oblige. He said of the link:

Very likely there is something to it as although the lad is a cracking player he is also a perennial sulk, much like the rest of our French players of the recent past. He's been linked with PSG heavily, along with Bayern, Leverkusen, Spurs, Arsenal et al (and now Villa too!). His agent comes out with something when he's not in the team, he gets back in and plays the 'misquoted' card.

Great player on his day but needs to be handled with serious kid gloves as he's very confidence / temperament based - would be looking for a fee north of 6m on him. Would be sad to see him go as Duff is pony now and can't kick past the first man. On the other hand it means we can move Gutierrez back to the left and go and buy a right winger.

Anelka Mark II - only without the goals.

I'm not so sure I would prefer to stick with milner and young.

Great back up. with a natural left foot. Would he be happy to be back up to Milner and Young though? Sort of signing we want if we are to strengthen the squad to seriously compete in Europe as well as the Premiership.
krfeskivilla
get him in, stick him on the left wing and then put Young in a free role behind the strikers.

You need a right winger? You can have Milner back if we can have our 12 MILLION back!
