Man Of The Match v Everton

Man Of The Match v Everton

Vital Villa asked, in our last poll, for your man of the match v Everton.

The winner was none other than young Ashley Young with 50% of the vote for his spectacular goals.

The next was captain fantastic himself, Martin Laursen who came off the field of play battered, bruised and cut!

That left:

Friedel (8%)
Cuellar (2%)
Petrov (2%)
Barry (2%)
Milner (2%)
Davies (1%)
L. Young (1%)
Sidwell (1%)
Agbonlahor (0%)

Our latest poll suggested by shortshadyuk asks if Heskey in and Harewood out is really an upgrade.

Heskey will turn our 10 a season players into 15 or more. Owen scored for fun with Heskey setting him up. I do believe John Terry was once quoted as saying that Heskey was the most diffcult striker in the league to play against. If we can get him cheap and he wants to play for his old mentor MON then get him. He'll be more useful to us than Harewood.

I think we need to get Owen (£6m) and Heskey (£4m). I'm not necessarily a big fan of Heskey but he was a success under MON before and he has been a success alongside Owen before. What's £10m? I think they could provide us with the extra fire power and more importantly much needed competition up front for Gabby and JC when fit.

I would go for all four of the middle options in the new poll. An improvement yes but we need to aim higher to beat the likes of the established top 4.

On the poll I said that we should buy Heskey as an improvement over Marlon but tbh I'd rather we went for someone who can do the job Heskey does so well in olding up and creating but can actually score too. A none-injury prone Ashton would be ideal imo.

I know this isn't a popular view, but I've always thought (and said) that there is nobody better at making the rest of a team play than Heskey. He does so much hard work holding the ball up, bringing other people into play and laying on chances, and despite being a 'big man' he has very good feet and can play touch football when necessary. Why is it that almost every pro - manager and player - rates him, while many fans don't?
