Carew Could Be Out For Longer

According to the Express & Star, Villa striker John Carew could be out for longer than first thought after it was revealed the club wouldn't know for a few weeks whether the big man would need surgery on his back injury or not.

O'Neill told the paper, 'It’s one of those where we’ll have to wait and see. He’s doing some specialist training and we hope he won’t need surgery but we won’t know that for a few weeks.'

However MON is looking on the bright side and says it would be 'poor fare' if the club let the absence of one player affect the season.

'As we start to make progress with the squad we are going to have to find different ways of playing and winning a football game.'

I guess this is where getting more options into the squad would have helped, but then, who am I to possibly utter such words....! Please don't answer that, my ego is fragile and is easily bruised.

Cant see him being a Villa player next season

Maybe there is still an issue RE: his visit to the titty bars.

He usually gets cramp after 60 mins anyway

Nothing wrong with titty bars as long as your not John Carew.

I think the Hare should get his game over carew. Ok carew is more talented but cant give a dam as proven by his night out before the ajax match. At least marlon cares and would do anything to help the cause.

We need Bent... proven scorer but like Owen he has been Injury prone.

Very frustrating, disappointing news indeed. We have to strengthen our strike force in January, two new faces, but no one knows our deficiencies more that Mart. Trust in The Man!

Jermaine Beckford from Leeds United, and Kevin Doyle from Reading. I said it in the summer, I'm repeating it now. Those are the two we need. Mart, are you listening to me?
