Villa v Stockport/Gillingham Live On TV

Villa will be on the TV in January for their FA Cup 3rd round game against either Stockport (come on you Hatters - and YES, Stockport ARE the original Hatters! Do you really want to be bored with the details? Oh go on then, Luton only made straw boaters for much of the time whereas Stockport made every kind of hat going... so there) or Gillingham (got nothing clever to say about them!).

The match date has been set for Sunday January 4 at the rubbish time of 1.30pm on ITV....

All the televised games:

Friday 2 Jan: Spurs v Wigan
Saturday 3 Jan: Preston v Liverpool
Sunday 4 Jan:Stockport County/Gillingham v Aston Villa
Sunday 4 Jan: Southampton v Man Utd
Monday 5 Jan: Bournemouth/Blyth Spartans v Blackburn

Villa will know their opponents on Tuesday 9th December after County take on Gillingham at Edgeley Road.

The TV fee for all clubs televised is 160 000, not a fortune to us maybe but crucial to teams like County, Gillingham and Bournemouth.

They obviously see a shock on the cards...

i'd rather it not be televised, and we slip under the radar to the next round, tv comes in.... the old cliches of upset will be spouted about!

NOOOOOOO!!! QPR didn't even need the match to be televised to knock us out the Milk Cup...and now this. Doncaster anyone?

See Gillingham will be using our Bodymoor Heath training complex before completing their journey to Stockport. Are we taking sides here, showing a preference?

As long as Mart sends out his first choice starting line-up on F.A. Cup third round day we'll be fine olafthegreat. If he starts tinkering and sends out a team consisting of fringe players, we could well be in for a tricky afternoon.
