Martin O'Neill Looking At January Sales

Martin O'Neill has spoken about the transfer window and admits that Villa will try to do some business this January.

'We will be hoping to do some business in the transfer window if at all possible. We are certainly in the market to improve the squad if we can in January. We will see.'

This follows reports yesterday that Villa owner Randy Lerner is happy to back the Villa boss to bring in a top striker in order to push for the Champions League this season, as if we needed a newspaper to tell us that!

No, have faith Brother Benham! Remember the Jan before did bring in Ashley Young!
The Fear
And JC aswell Fear, same window. I think we'll definately see the signing of a quality striker in Jan, two signings would be even better. Something that hasn't been mentioned much though - do reckon we'll send anyone on their way in Jan? I really wouldn't be surprised to see Marlon get poached providing we do get the quality of forward we're after. Albion anyone? Mowbray has been quoted as saying he might have to take a chance on people not in the first team at their current clubs...
Mayo_12
Or on the flip side we could see another Routledge!! I'll start the rumour mill churning by throwing the names Kenwe Jones and Antonino Valencia into the hat...

Marlon poached! More like served on a plate with a side serving of Reo-Coker to anywhere.

On skysports, they are saying O'Neill wants Heskey. Have to say, he's not the type of guy I was wanting him to be in for, but I suppose if he scores then it'll do for me.
Layzee
where do these people get their ideas.......they are saying we are after Heskey too.....mind you they say WE are after EVERYONE !!!
lincolnblue
Mr O'Neill always signs people who don't appear in the headlines. John Carew didn't appear until the last minute, and I don't remember much talk about either Ashley Young, or Carlos Cuellar.

Perm any 2 from Dean Ashton, Mickey Ooooven and Podolski please!
YatesyVillain
go get tevez, untited are skinto.
Stig
A big no thanks for Heskey. Podolski would be good. Tevez would be good too. Ashton? A bit too injury prone, but if he could stay fit....
DoLpHiNaToR
Crouch and Geovanni please.
koolbill
Very important transfer window for us, then again I suppose they all are. Bring in the right striker or two, and our top four prospects could improve immensely.

Guess if a new striker or two come onboard, then we could say goodbye to The Hare. Pity it didn't work out for the guy. He certainly gave his all, and cant be faulted on that count.
