The Hatters Told To Ignore Villa - For Now

Stockport County manager Jim Gannon has told his team to forget about any talk of facing Aston Villa in the FA Cup and to focus instead on getting passed Gillingham in their replay. That said, the Hatters boss would love to face MON's side!

Gannon, a name to watch out for in the future, he isn't afraid to ruffle feathers but he is doing great things at County, told their official website: 'It's a great draw against a top-four Premiership side with a great manager and some fantastic young players. I have the utmost respect for Martin O'Neill and it would be great to pit my wits against him.'

Adding, 'It will also be great for our young players to measure themselves against Villa's talented players.'

Come on County, I SO want us to face them at Edgeley Road, it will make for a great cup tie and by no means a racing certainty!

The game v County or Gillingham will be played on the weekend of 3-4 January 2009.

Since when did Stockport County become the Hatters - surely that's Luton Town?

NO NO NO! Stockport are the original hatters and were known for the hat making. Luton is an imposter. Ooooh, you'll be in trouble when I show my Stockport mate this! lol

My God... are there no real football fans on this site? Luton and their straw boaters. How very nice. Luton the hatters my backside. Stenny... see here my man. http://www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=23643&posts=9 Jeez. It's like me saying Villa are known as the Villans. I always thought you lot were the Lions. Anyway, not said thanks for beating the Dungers in 57. So thanks.

WE ARE A TOP 4 SIDE!!

Haven't seen us play at Stockport, whereas I have seen us at Gillingham, so if I had a choice, I'd go for a trip to Edgley Park/Road whatever it is.

What sort of a line-up will Marty send out on F.A. Cup Third Round day? Hope we take this competition serious right from the off.
