Odds On For Villa Win & Lawro Agrees

Mark Lawrenson is back on the Aston Villa train having tipped us to lose against Arsenal (wrong) and Manchester United (wrong) he says Villa will be too strong for Fulham this weekend and tips us to win 2-1.

The BBC pundit said: 'Fulham picked up a good point away from home against Liverpool last week - and in fact they might have snatched even more at Anfield. But, having seen Arsenal of late, Villa will believe that if they can really push on now they can take a firm grip on that fourth spot in the table. They had a good result themselves against Manchester United last time out and they will be just too strong for Fulham.'

Meanwhile it looks like both Nigel Hokey-Cokey and John 'sick note' Carew are both doubts. MON told AVTV: 'We have a problem or two at the moment. Nigel hasn't trained for the past couple of days. He has the flu. We will see how this is later this evening and tomorrow. John has a bit of a back problem again. We will have to monitor that. But it is looking as if he might miss a few weeks. He pulled up in training yesterday and it is something that needs more treatment.'

The bookies meanwhile are all backing Villa to win: 15:00 Aston Villa (4/6) Draw (11/4) Fulham (11/2) To check the full odds and best prices for first scorer etc, check out Oddschecker.com or click one of our oddschecker banners.

What's with JC and these niggling little injuries? I was looking forward to him getting his nose into the frame again this weekend - I think he'd have relished a tussle with that big f***er Fulham have at the back, Hangeland.

I thought you'd probably win as well but that would mean Lawro got one right....unlucky lads ;-)
Phartman87
what does Lawro know about footy - who did he play for?

Fulham are no longer pushovers on the road, far from it. Roy Hodgson has them very well organised. Strong at the back, competitive in midfield, and they carry a threat up front.

That 0-0 draw up at Anfield last weekend should have set the warning bells off. With one central striker up front, it was always going to be difficult to carry a threat up front when competing against such a well organised defence.
