Petrov Wants Consistency Now Fear Has Gone

Stiliyan Petrov says Villa HAVE to take the points against teams like Fulham if they want to stay in fourth and start to compete for loftier placings in the league. Villa, if we get the 3 points at home this weekend, could go third about Manchester United who face Manchester City (a tough game indeed) on Sunday.

Petrov, the man of the moment for Villa after finally finding his very skillful feet in the Premiership, told Sky Sports that 4th is where Villa want to be and with consistency he hopes it is where we stay.

'People may not believe that. But why not? We are going well, other teams are dropping points. Arsenal are losing games and we will keep going, trying to win games.'

He also says that at last Villa played without fear v Man Utd and Arsenal. Not quite sure what I've done to offend him but hey ho.

'Looking at the two games, we didn`t play with fear. Now if we come out and play with the same preparation and concentration against other teams, then I think we can do very well this season.' Warning 'We shouldn`t just raise our game when we play the big teams.

Yes, every club with ambition has to strive for consistency. Easier said than done of course, but its step one on the road to a successful campaign.

We're fairly consistent on our travels I think, both performance and results wise, but its at home where I think you never really know what to expect from us.
