Brilliant! We've broken that hoodoo and the effort from every single player was top notch. Luke Young was again faultless at left-back, Davies and Laursen brilliant as always. Reo-Coker wasn't terrible at right-back. Friedel was dire at commanding his box, and the game passed by Steve Sidwell. Other than that a brilliant performance.

A clean sheet against that lot is a major achievement and will instill massive confidence in our back line. I'm well chuffed with our performance, even if we couldn't sneak the winner.

I'm happy with that. To have an even game with united is a massive improvement.

Great game - GREAT result - ill take 0-0 with ManUre anytime, we did enough to have won it - but it just didn't quite fall for us.
Well done the Villa Boys!

Just got back from the game. Brilliant performance, best i have seen in ages (I was not at Arse), If we can keep playing like that we will be in for a great season. I hope we can stop the slip ups against the teams that we expect to beat. Great day though, I was really worried when I saw Reo-Coker lining up at right back, but he had a blinder. With Milner and Young tracking back really well to help the full backs.
Lots of tough tackling that the ref allowed added to the game. They had some chances, but don't forget, we had quite a few too. We could have won it, but you can't complain about that result and performance. We also had spells where we dominated and Utd were hanging on at times. Really impressed lads. well done. Now don't waste that good result when we play Fulham.

Brilliant tactics from MON in my opinion. I saw the team sheet and thought 'b***cks'. Reo-coker and L.young as full backs. It worked a treat. MON knew that Shorey wouldn't be quick enough for United's pacey wingers and reo coker stands for no sh*t especially from Ronaldo. Ronaldo did nothing all game because Reo-Coker was class. The 3 best players on the field for me were Petrov, Reo-Coker and Milner. The amount of effort from the whole team was sensational!
I've never enjoyed a 0-0 so much!

Outstanding performance all round. It's been a while since I saw a defensive performance as good. The vast majority of Utd set pieces bounced right back at them. Coker did a superb job - but he still couldn't find a Villa man with any pass. If only he could get that right... Ronaldo was up to his usual comedy, rolling around. It was all frustration at being nailed down for most of the game. Petrov - outstanding. The best game he's ever had for Villa? I thought so.
I think we showed them too much respect in the first half. We sat back too much and allowed them the ball. In the second half, they saw what we were all about. We frightened them a few times.
Man of the Match? - I really don't know. I thought we had so many outstanding players, it felt unfair to single any one out. Luke Young was excellent. Coker never stopped. Petrov got stuck in. Barry spread the ball well. Laursen and Davies repelled everything. Overall, I was delighted.
A pundit on Setanta said a Villa win would send out a message to the big teams. I think this performance sent out a pretty good message in itself.

Had us down to beat them, but I'll gladly take the point. They are such a good side, for us to compete on their level proves we have the credentials to be up there. Disappointed that Ronaldo felt it necessary to cheat, but then I had a feeling before the game that he might even be given his marching orders. Well done lads!

Went to the game, thought we fully deserved the draw, it felt a bit like a victory after all the losses against them. That challenge on Gabby was definitely a foul, no doubt about it........it should probably have been a penalty, however it doesn't matter too much we are 1 point ahead of arsenal !!! and if the season ends like that we are in the champions league

great game.... great result! chuffed!!!!

All I can say is WOW. We played better at the Arsenal and kept the ball more against them than we did to day against Man Utd.
They held us at arms length with there passing until they thought it time to have ago but then they met our back three (oh wait) / four / five and at times six. We played well today against a team that has scored in every game they have played in this season and we stopped them. That for me was the highlight of the day, not only did we take 3 points off Arsenal but we put a holte to a hoodoo that's lasted 13 years and took a point as well. WAHOOOO

What a great game to watch, and a great result!!
Two really exciting games against top clubs and a result from both of them , clean sheets to boot!! Milner stepped up to the mark after a shaky start and NRC did a really good job on the cheating little tw*t from Portugal with help from Milner too!
