Injury Update

Martin O'Neill has said today that Carlos Cuellar is a major doubt for the Man U game, but it looks like John Carew will be fit and raring to go.

Cuellar picked up a thigh injury in our 2-0 win over Arsenal and it's likely he will play no part in the United clash.

'Carlos has a problem. He injured himself against Arsenal and is a major doubt for this game.'

Carew however has had a week to rest his hip problem and in O'Neill's words:

'He is ready and willing.'

Come on Villa we have to beat Man U one day in the league! also Lawo thinks we'll lose i swear that is normally a good omen :-)

I'd be surprised if we didn't go out with the 4-5-1 that worked so well for us last week. Although I'm worried that with Carlos out Shorey may be back in, and I can envisage Ronaldo tearing him apart...hope I'm wrong.

Until the team actually go out and prove us wrong i'm always pessimistic of our chances against Man U. The last 2 times we've played I thought the omens were there to beat them and we just keep getting spanked. Prove us wrong fellas!

You are just right Mayo_12 - Shorey could get torn apart but the alternative is to have NRC at RB and Young at LB which I actually think he will do!! Give Shorey a few games out. I really hope not though! I would not change anything other than Young and Shorey at full-back. That means Carew on the bench.

Carew has to start. Those tactics worked well at The Emirates, but adjustments will be needed tomorrow. Cant play Gabby as a lone striker at home against United, not even with our wide men pushing up to support him.

A shame and a blow regarding Cuellar. Nicky Shorey will be o.k. if he gets the nod. Rather him in the starting line-up than a recall for NRC.

MON has to keep it fresh. It is all well and good keeping with the same team but legends like Fergie work out these things and ways to break them down. MON needs to amaze us with a 5-2-1-2 or some sort of tactical genius beacuse we won't beat them to the ball with the likes of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo who will run all day. PLEASE NO NRC....Last time MON tried to put him up against the winker he got shown.

I'm with glensider - as much as I said I worry about Shorey against Ronaldo, I'd much rather him on the pitch than NRC.

good odds on nige snapping ronaldos legs if he plays
