Danish Delight For Laursen

Danish Delight For Laursen

Martin Laursen has been voted Denmark's Player of the Year at a recent ceremony in Copenhagen.

According to the BBC, and sadly I've been unable to find confirmation nor quotes, Laursen beat off Nicklas Bendtner, Christian Poulsen and Daniel Jensen to capture the award from the Danish FA.

We all know how important Laursen is to us, so I'm well chuffed after his recovery from injury that he's been rewarded by the Danish FA.

Says a hell of a lot about the player, and the improvements made within the club.

Give him the key to the 'Freedom of Witton' - he deserves it, and every honour that comes his way.

Considering that not too long ago there were genuine doubts that he'd ever play again, let alone turn in the consistent performances that he turns in week after week, Martin has proved himself to be one of the all-time Villa Park greats.
