'If It's Football, It's Vital'

God Reveals Motivation

In a tangent linked to Lewis Hamilton, Paul 'God' McGrath has revealed one of his motivations on the pitch.

I'm not really sure who Lewis Hamilton is, apparently he's in another sport where you let the most expensive car win and you try not to drive into tyres, which is ridiculous because cars run on tyres.

Anyway speaking to the Daily Mail Online, God said:

'I am so proud of Lewis Hamilton and delighted he rubbed all their noses in it.

'He is a special guy. Lewis seems to have a beautiful family and he is a talent.

'Lewis is a young black man. It seems to be angry white men who can't stand seeing black people who are successful.

'When I was out on the pitch and someone shouted something at me, I used to think 'I'm earning a fortune' and do the fingers.

'It puts them in their place but it's not a nice thing to do. It made me play better. I always tackled hard, but fair, and made sure they felt it.'

So there we have it, God has spoken, now let Lewis play his sport without anymore stupidity. Blimey you'd have thought most people would be happy to see Lewis win given Henman Hill and Nigel Moustache.

Actually that's where I know his name from, Top Gear.

Did you have to go to Mount Sineii to speak to God or was it in a dream where he came to you and enlightened you via a burning bush????

...if the latter, you can get cream for that these days :P

I think its stupid how everyones going on about Lewis being black, on the radio during that race they were going on about how its brilliant that a black man has got into F1 and is showing everyone how its done. I still can't think why it matters if he is black or not, it really doesn't change anything does it? Also who are all these people that really like F1? How is there so much money in that sport when no one cares about it?
PTP
The press go on about Lewis being black because there are hardly any black people in F1, unlike football. It would be like an Asian player doing well in the Premier league or a British tennis player doing well. It doesn't change anything right now but other black kids could take an interest in racing after seeing Lewis become World Champion. I'm not interested in it myself but there is major TV money and sponsorship and out of curiosity I checked out ticket prices for the Spanish grand prix in May 2009. A general admission ticket to watch the race costs £126! Car parking was another £16. It was over £300 to be in one of the grandstands! Then there is all the merchandise I imagine can be bought. More people care about F1 than you think.

Lay of Mansell he is one of my heros, nothing to do with the colour of his skin, he made F1 watchable.

When 'God' speaks, the world stops what its doing, and listens. Ooh Aah, that they do.

I'm afraid that I share PTP views and observations. I could/should have wrote that. Well I couldn't/wouldn't, PTP puts it more eloquently than I ever could.
