Man United Legend Tips Villa For Top Four

Sir Alex Chewalot of Manchester United says he believes Aston Villa are the only club outside of themselves, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal capable of competing in the top four.

He told Sky Sports News:

'I do not see anyone else breaking in, other than Aston Villa. It is possible they might do it - but no-one else.'

Sir Al did tip us in the 90's to be Manchester United's main opponents only for Villa to fall away after finishing second in the inaugural year of the Premiership when our former Chairman failed to push on.

Now we have a top chairman with a nice few pennies in the bank to push Villa's way and a manager who is lauded as one of the top managers in the game, who knows where we can end up?

Still a very big ask BUT if we spend right again this January and more next summer............. Hmmm, at least Villa are starting to get back to the time where we knew we could compete, that was the main thing missing for many a long year, it does seem the club has renewed vigour and belief about it. Long may it continue!

Man City wont do anything this season but I might stick a cheeky tenner on them to win the title next season.

No chance, Chelsea will be a stronger team next season, Citeh will be lucky too finish 3rd. You cant buy trophies. You need a back bone.

But who's place will we take in the top 4? Not Chelsea's, not Man Utd's, not Liverpool's (they're top without Torres)...which leaves only Arsenal. Can we realistically finish above Arsenal? Maybe. Just maybe.

Mind games from Sir Alex. Villa MAY be a threat, so let's put some pressure and expectation on their shoulders.

I just think its no small coincidence that Man Citeh are bigging themselves up and Fergie keeps saying ONLY VILLA are good enough, i.e not Man Citeh. its obvious isnt it?

Nice one Bandit. About time someone spoke up for us, for too long we've been the "elephant in the drawing room".

Spot on krfes. The scottish alcoholic aka Fergie is worried and trying to unsettle MON before their visit to their second home in 3 weeks. We are above them in the league also!!!!

Last time Fergie predicted Villa were a threat he did something about it. He bought Dwight Yorke. Hands off Ashley and Gabby SAF.

Think Alex has been drinking a little too much wine. Cant see us breaking top four just yet, I think that we are still some way off.

We've got a tricky little November coming up. That month should see us get a clearer picture as to where we are, and where we need to be. Lwets not get carried away just yet. Its way too early.
