O'Neill Breaks Carew Silence

After the allegations in the newspapers about John Carew breaking club curfew prior to the Ajax match, O'Neill has now commented.

Speaking on the official site, and no doubt taking advantage of Carew's impressive performance today, our manager said simply:

'He has paid the penalty and the incident is forgotten. He has already said it won't happen again. I tend to believe him.

'He said there were a lot of mitigating circumstances and I tend to share that view too.

'He will be reprimanded and fined and I'm sure it won't happen again.'

sensible view, sorted it out like adults................. move on!
krisvilla
absolutely...when he's performing on the pitch it's a bit hard not to overlook things like this with such ease.
johnnyuk
i dont see anything wrong with a guy dipping his wick before a game any way, didnt he just jettison some weight??

Carew is a top bloke and imo our best player,We all make mistakes no harm done.Get your tits out for carew.
lerneravfc
Soft arse. Would Fergie tolerate this? He is blowing his chance as next Utd. manager acting like way. Buck yer ideas up O'Neill or stay in the slow lane.
greyhound

Pi55 OFF greyhound. MON is looking to the future not the past. How did they do against 14th placed Everton again???? UTV
Villan444
Greyhound you dont upset the applecart when all the apples are Fresh, shiney and yours.

Todays goal great, still needs to make sure it doesn't happen again, he can only perform when on the pitch and in the UEFA cup he couldn't make it onto the pitch. Nice gesture for him to pay so much attention to the away fans today and to throw his shirt in the crowd, I'm sure MON has made it clear that sort of behaviour isn't accepted and that is the end of that.
The Fear
He should really have understood the importance of the ajax game but like lerneravfc says we all make mistakes, might have been a bit harder to forgive if we had lost the game but we did'nt so thats that.
bornavillain
hey greyhound what did fergy do when ronaldo was screwing 2 blondes and three blokes? ...nothing , and why? because he gets told what to do by his top players
Astonian Villan
there is makign mistakes then there is making mistakes at every club you go to. Hopefully MON has made it clear this is a one off as MON isn't the sort to put up with player rubbish I don't think. Hopefully all over and if he can score more like today, might be the kick up the arse he needed.
The Fear
lol fear, MON doesnt allow players throwing their shirts to fans? abit harsh, nowonder we dun see much of Harewood! (hahhhhhahhahahaha)
Gruck
Look, if I was a top footballer I would grab every oppportunity to surround myself with fit birds who want to take their clothes off. Fairplay Jon, you lucky ********!

John Carew Carew, He never had the flu, He saw a tit or two, John Carew Carew.
IanSymes
Swift action by MON has brought the matter to a satisfactory conclusion. JC was in the wrong, seemingly broke club rules, and that sort of behaviour cant be condoned, no matter who the offender.
glensider
Hopefully JC knuckles down now, gets back on track, and gets back amongst the goals. Best way to put this sorry issue behind him.
