Club Statement On The Idiot In The Crowd

Club Statement On The Idiot In The Crowd

After an idiot at the Pompey match aimed a 50 pence coin into the technical area hitting the assistant referee, the club have released an official statement.

Aston Villa have condemned the idiotic behaviour of the so called 'fan' after assistant referee Phil Sharp was hit above his right eye, causing a small cut.

The club and the FA will conduct an investigation into the event, and will be studying CCTV closely to identify the idiot.

The club have also said they will issue a lifetime ban to any individual found guilty of throwing the coin, and the FA have insisted their investigation will focus on finding the culprit as opposed to punishing the club.

We have a very good record, and we are known as a family club and as a fan I've always been pleased that the club rarely hit the headlines for this sort of behaviour.

It's a game off football, that's it. There are no excuses for this type of behaviour.

Speaking on the official site, Martin O'Neill said:

'It is unacceptable, absolutely unacceptable. It shouldn't be there.

'I turned to the fourth official and he told me there were four minutes of added time and then the next thing you know, the linesman is on the floor after being hit by a coin.

'It is just unacceptable and there's no place for it in the game whatsoever.

'From our own point of view, the club are making good strides. Since the chairman has come in, we have become a real supporter-friendly football club with a really good atmosphere so this is all terribly disappointing. It's just mindless!'

No doubt the d1ckhead who threw it missed as he was probably aiming at our 'Arry. Hang him let alone ban him.

Total coward, hope they find him and not only ban him but also take him to court. Some pratt threw a pound coin which hit me last season (as I sit on the front row) and it bloody hurt.... I put the £ on the lottery but didn't win so that hurt as well! Seriously though, without the refs and linesmen, the game couldn't be held so some people need to grow up, no place for that sort of action anywhere. What a brainless idiot.

Note that the normally shy and retiring suspected money launderer and bung taker, "Arry Redknapp" has come out and been mouthing off to the media and giving the fans stick immediately after the incident as if he is in charge.(not that I condone the incident.)

Idiot, whoever it was should never ever be allowed in any football ground again for the rest of their life. Wasnt too happy with the reaction of the Villa fans either to be honest.

JF. I know that were not too far from the action. There seemed to be a lot of finger pointing from that pr4t Redtw4t, but I did not see that stewards or the police wade into the crowd to arrest anyone. Normally people sitting in the vicinity identify the culprit, but I did not see anyone pointing the finger (apart from 'Arry). Your take on the incident please.

Merlin's "close the ground" outburst is puerile and stupid. This could happen anywhere. It takes one person to do this. And all football fans must unite and stop it from happening. This is not a time to call for repercussions, but let's stand together and get the toady little ba***rd who did it and sort him out.

It is so disappointing and I really hope the press take the same attitude with regards to it being one little d1ckh3ad and not a reflection on our club. We must be the best run club in the league after what our Chairman has done for and with our supporters.
