Vital Villan Interviews - Pablo1978

Pablo1978 steps up to the plate and takes the Vital Villan interview.

1 - How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

Been a Villa fan for the last 16 years. First began following the club when I was 13 years old.

2 - What was your first game?

My first game was on Television, we beat Arsenal 2-1 at Highbury - we had the really COOL green and black strip then. Dean Saunders scored that day.

3 - What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

Without a doubt beating Man U, 3-1 in the League cup final, although beating Wimbledon "the crazy gang" 7-1 was also a great show, I think we scored the entire 8 goals that day.

4 - And the worst moment?

Every time we loose to Liverpool, I despise them and for us to beat them once again would be great.

5 - Who are your favourite current Villa players?

Ashley Young, although I am a big fan of Martin Laursen.

6 - Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

In the past I quite liked Dean Saunders and Paul Merson. But my best player was Dwight Yorke.

7 - Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Well 2 - Djemba Djemba and Bosko Balaban.

8 - What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

Best goal for me and I can still pictue it like yesterday was Savo Milosevic scoring against Leeds in the League cup final. He scored an absolute blinder.

9 - Best away ground visited?

I live in South Africa and have never had a opportunity to travel to the UK to watch a live match, but based on television I would have to say OLD Trafford.

10 - Who would you like to see Villa sign this January?

Santa Cruz from Blackburn

11 - What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a)League - 1st hey if you look at MON progress over the last few years, arithmetically its possible. Realistically 4th
b)Europe - Winners of the UEFA cup
c)FA Cup - I reckon round 3

12 - What is your opinion of Martin O'Neill?

Always been a big MON fan and was ecstatic when I heard he was appointed.

13 - What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

I wrote an email to Randy Lerner when I heard he was pulling out of discussion with Doug Ellis during the takeover phase, I basically pleaded with him to buy Villa, I don`t know whether he got my email in the end, but I was really keen on him buying us, I really think he is a true gentleman, I would not swap him for Roman or the Oil crowd running Man city. He may have less money but definitely a bigger heart when it comes to the club and its fans. I think everyone at villa is now doing a sterling job, so I got no complaints.

14 - Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

Well I will be at Villa park in the next year and I would like to sit next Randy Lerner. Sorry not a Season ticket holder, but I would be if I lived in the UK.

15 - And finally if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a 'bang' ;o)

Randy Lerner
Dwight Yorke
Paul Merson
Mark Bosnich - he will bring the drugs

With thanks to Pablo1978
