'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Osbourne Living The Dream

Isaiah Osbourne has said on the official site that he has to pinch himself regularly because he can't believe he is playing for his boyhood heroes.

The 20 year old Academy graduate has recently signed a 3 year contract and as yet another player in or on the fringes of our first team who supported the club from the stands, he is obviously over the moon with his progress.

'I've been a Villa fan all my life. It's a dream - the perfect job for me. I always dreamt of playing for the club and I have to pinch myself sometimes to actually believe I am at the club.

'Playing in front of my fellow supporters is amazing too. I can't put it into words really.

'My whole family are Villa supporters so they are very proud.

'The great thing is coming through the academy into the first team - that's a great feeling and I have a lot of people to thank for that - people like Bryan Jones, Tony McAndrew, Gordon Cowans and Kevin MacDonald.

'It's also great to commit to a club which are truly on the up in the Premier League and my main aim now is to fight to get a place in the team. That's my main goal.

'The manager is a great man to work for and I'm sure my game will develop working with him on a regular basis, with coaches like Steve and John.

'We have a great group of lads here and the banter is fantastic - it's a great club to be at.'

Osbourne is a bit of a enigma when it comes to fans and his appearances so far. Most of the time he's appeared has been when those with more experience have failed to turn up making a judgment call on him slightly unfair.

O'Neill certainly rates the lad though from what he's seen in training, and of course only being 20 years old he has ages to make his mark and forge out a career.

It seems his head is screwed on, and for O'Neill to like him you know the attitude is right.

I think like most of our youngsters fans need to remember mistakes will be made, and they need the time, opportunity and support to make those mistakes without us turning on them.

I'd love to live the dream, instead I have to live la vida loca
The Fear
Can anyone see Osbourne pulling on an England shirt within 5 years? I cant.
PiperUK
i like him, he kinda reminds me of ian taylor. also midfielders with aerial presence can be very useful

I have a lot of time for Osbourne and was made up when I heared he'd signed a new contract. I thought he was one of the better players against QPR. AS far as a look-a-likey, he reminds me of the guy who plays Candi Man. Which is a little creepy!

Piper with the Premiership full of Jonny Foreigner the country may be eternally geatful to Aston Villa for investing their resourses in young English tallented players.

He's got a huge task ahead of him over the next season or two to really establish himself at the club, and force his way into the starting line up. A lot of quality ahead of him, but he has at times shown promise. Good luck to him.

Hear Hear Col8. Agree with you wholeheartedly. Isiah has shown enough promise and potential to convince the club that its well worth rewarding him with a new extended deal. Long may that sort of approach to young players coming through our ranks continue.
