'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Milner Says Top 4 Is Possible For Villa

James Milner says he will gladly sit out the rest of the season if it means Villa win!

Milner, showing he is indeed a team player, says he isn't at all frustrated by his slow start to his Villa career and says although he would like to be playing from the start, the crucial thing is that Villa win.

'Don't get me wrong, every footballer wants to play but the lads have been brilliant all season and have been picking up some great results. What's important to me is being part of a massive football club like Aston Villa who are doing well on a number of fronts. There is competition for places and the key to that is 'if you play well you keep your place'. That's the way it should be. That's what has been happening.'

Adding, 'I'd be delighted if we won every game this season, sat on the bench and we were successful. There wouldn't be anyone happier than me. It's healthy to have competition in the squad.'

He also says Villa do have a realistic chance of finishing in the top four this season.

Do you agree? Top four? Not totally sure myself but do think we have an outside chance IF we can keep our players fit until January and stay within shouting distance; and then as the icing on the cake, bring in yet more quality in the transfer window.

Dreamland or possible?

Milner does concede that talk is easier than reality! 'Saying that, it's one thing me saying things but we should do our talking on the pitch.'

4th is possible if even those players not getting a game are this -notch.hungry. MON's man-management is top-notch.

I just look at Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and ManU, and I just think no - no way we should be in that group yet with this squad. Possible, of course, but highly unlikely. Now 5th is a different story, as undoubtedly we're right up there with the best of the rest.

I look at chelsea and man utd and think no,Then i look at liverpool and arsenal and in think yes we can have their spot ,People re looking at the chelsea game and getting nagative,It was one game one three points,we had a bad day,Why not look at the liverpool performance and say we should have beat them and base it on that instead if you are doing it on one performance? We will finish third this season and we will win the uefa cup,Mark my words.

Top four is a possibility, yes, no doubt about it. Certain factors obviously have to come into play of course, and while I think personally that it remains a long-shot, at least at long, long last, the possibility, no matter how slim, is definitely there.

Tend to agree though with YatesyVillain though, that for the immediate future at least, fifth place is definitely the more realistic goal. Still, if you dont reach for the stars..........
