'If It's Football, It's Vital'

O'Neill Excited At Prospect Of European Nights

Martin O'Neill spoke after the game last night, sadly Vital Villan didn't see the reaction so didn't post it here. I have now requested his good lady remove his beer and all other priviledges for 2 days. Don't expect to see him again, he'll never survive...!

Meanwhile, put simply, Martin O'Neill told the official site: 'Job done.'

Speaking to AVTV 'Overall, I think we were reasonably comfortable throughout the evening. Marlon scored a good goal and that meant that instead of scoring three to get through the tie, they then needed three before they could even think about extra time. We had opportunities to put it beyond them but sometimes in football it doesn't happen. I've had experience of these things.'

He also said that he thought Villa deserved to go through and was 'absolutely delighted' before promising:

'We will now have some splendid European evenings at Villa Park before Christmas and it's something for all of us to look forward to. I am really looking forward to the draw and I genuinely couldn't be more pleased.'

No arguments from most supporters on that score lerneravfc. The man has worked wonders during his relatively short time at the helm. Long may he remain at Brummagem B6.

As for the upcoming UEFA Cup group games at Villa Park, it is to be hoped that supporters attend in substantial numbers. Its great to have the club back on the competitive european club football stage, lets really show our support and appreciation to RL, MON, and the lads.
