Sidwell Returns Once More

Steve Sidwell once again continues his return from yet another injury, as he joins in with first team training.

Sidwell was on the verge of a first team return at the beginning of September, following his recovery from a calf injury picked up in Villa's InterToto Cup games against Odense.

However following the 3-2 victory over the Potters' second string side, it was announced that the former Reading and Chelsea midfielder had taken a knock to his knee, which has required another spell on the sidelines.

With a midfield 4 so far impressing and continuing to keep record signing Jimmy Milner on the bench, one will await eagerly to see just what contribution Sidders may add to the party, provided of course, he doesn't get injured again!

About bloody time too!! Seriously though, the more competition for places the better. It's a long hard season and we will need all our midfielders to play their part if it's going to be a successful one.
jonah
i give him 2 weeks, any takers at 2/1
Astonian Villan
AV, I think we should propose that as a "tongue in cheek" front page poll!!

sorry chaps - now can you see why we sold him?
merlin
Merlin, that was a silly comment. He was sold because he couldn't get in the team...not because of injury. He'll be back. If only he'd had the experience to know thta after only playing a few games all season that you can't rush full steam ahead the next - injuries will happen. He's learnt this lesson and the former Championship and Reading player of the year will come back stronger than ever and be a real asset to us. We love our ginners! There's only one Tommy Johnson!!!!!!!! Only one.....

He's got the ability and desire to become a firm Villa Park favourite. Good to see him back in business, fit and raring. He'll definitely add to our starting line up once he gets the opportunity. Looking forward very much to seeing him in action sporting the claret and blue.

You've lost me Merlin. Are you suggesting that you off-loaded him because he was continually injured? That isn't the reason surely? I think you're way off base there.
