Poll Results - Where The Villa Fans Were v QPR

Vital Villa asked, (along with our article: Villa Fans - Where Were You?) following our low attendance v QPR:

Why didn't you attend the Carling Cup game?

The majority, with 39%, said they simply lived too far away for midweek games.

18% looked into the future and so voted: I knew what was coming and couldn't face it

17% said they had been hit by the credit crunch and just couldn't afford it.

That left:

Don't rate the Carling Cup (9%)
Work/family commitments (9%)
Just didn't fancy it (8%)

Whatever the reasons and/or excuses, here's hoping for a 40,000 plus turnout tomorrow for the visit of Keano's lot. They've sold out their complete allocation, 3,000 tickets I believe, so there should be a great match day atmosphere at the grand old stadium.

That is 44% of fans that in effect couldn't be bothered. Again I will reitterate that those that could't go for a whole range of reasons, do not need to defend those reasons. But those that just couldn't be bothered can not really demand that the owners dig deep to improve the team, ground, facilities in the future. Wednesdays attendance was pathetic, embarrasing and could have serious repercussions for the club in the future.

Can only agree voiceoftheholte. Not for one minute did I think that the supporters would deliver such a slap in the face to Mr Lerner and co. It was a truly pathetic turnout.

I was there before i start.........I found that alot of peopl who never go to games chose that game to go too....which means that it was the regulars that lets us down, to be honest after Leicester and QPR I am wondering why I waste my money on it and to be fair at one stage I was thinking I would prefer to lose 1-0 then have extra time I want to go home !!!! of course next year when the drawis made we will no doubt be there but f we ar talking piorities with tickes....he Carling cup is far far bhind UEFA and away matches for me. If i was to not go to one it would be the Carling Cup, I aint made of money and th its onlt 15 quid thing doeasnt cut it....it 15 quid but thats ontop of the 40 for the baggies, 35 for stoke, 10 for Litex nd i know which three I would prefer to go to...

I was there on Wednesday. I was there against Leicester last year. I went up to Doncaster and also Burnley (I know that these games had nothing to do with MON). In fact I can on the fingers of one hand the number of home games that I've missed in the last 20 years. I used to look forward to Villa drawing a lower team in the League Cup so that we could progress into the later stages, but not any more! I hope we get drawn with top sides from now on because that is the only way I will be going to watch the early rounds from now on! It is not so much that MON p1sses around with the team although that is bad enough it's more about the half hearted attitude of those that are playing. It was quite evident on Wednesday that as soon as QPR scored Barry took his foot off the gas and I've been watching Carew for some time now and he just about does enough and goes through the motions for the last half hour of every match perhaps that's why we concede so many late goals. No, I'm sorry they've conned their last £20 out of me unless they draw top opposition in next years League Cup I won't be there as much as it pains me to say. Enough is enough!
