Baros story 3983. The Sun claim that the move is now on hold because Liverpool wanted Solano as a make weight and Villa have said no.

Having said that, Baros story 3984 says that the Baros move will continue regardless of the Solano situation.

Baros could become a Villa player tomorrow as he returns from International duty in Prague today.

Baros has also snubbed offers from Benfica and Lyon according to reports.

The Sun also claim that Liverpool have offered £1million for Solano, which was turned down, but that they may come in with an improved offer of £2million. Villa might be tempted because his contract runs out next summer and he only cost us £1.5million. DOL says ' I admire Liverpool's taste...But any suggestion that he is going there has been rejected. He is a valuable player for me here and he is going nowhere. He is happy here and I am happy.'

Wolves £4million rated defender Joleon Lescott is being linked to Villa again, although Hoddle insists he isn't for sale.

Villa have been linked with Juventus striker Fabrizio Miccoli. Looks like agent talk to me.

Postma's loan spell at Wolves has been cut short and he faces the prospect of returning to Villa as 3rd choice keeper. His contract runs out at the end of this season.

Jamie Ward scored giving Villa reserves a 1-0 victory over the Baggies. Our team were: Taylor, de la Cruz, Green, Cahill, Grant, Berson, Kabeya, Ward, Moore, Williams, Foley. Subs: Saunders, Olejnik, Osbourne (Berson 67), Bridges (Osbourne 77), Phil Green.

Thought for the day: Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
