Man Of The Match For Litex Lovech Match

Vital Villa asked by Vital Villan masquerading this time as 'lady luck' (!) for your man of the match v Litex Lovech.

Nigel Hokey-Cokey walked it, the vote that is, not the match. The midfielder got 61% of the votes.

New boy Carlos Cuellar came next with 13% and it seems that Stiliyan Petrov is continuing to impress as he got 9% of the votes.

That left:

Friedel (7%)
Laursen (2%)
Routledge (2%)
Salifou (2%)
Harewood (1%)
Barry (1%)
Agbonlahor (1%)
Shorey (1%)
Young (0%)
Gardner (0%)
Milner (0%)

Can't believe only 61% voted for him! He was the only player that did anything!
olafthegreat
he's been playin well recently, begs the questions, why hasnt he the rest of the time? similar to that of Petrov's form
krisvilla
They now have fear they may be dropped with gardner and sidwell snapping at their heels. competition for places keeps people at the top of their game long may it continue I say
iomvilla
How was young an option? He didnt play! I thought Laursen deserved more votes, he did very well. P.S. no way was the free kick they scored from a foul! Nige nipped the ball away quite neatly
NorthcliffeBandit
I agree about Laursen's vote, but that's a major problem with the way these particular polls work - you give one player your full vote, and nothing to everybody else, when the whole team may have played exceptionally well. That means most players get more or less nothing in every poll. It would be more accurate if everyone gave graded votes to every player - but that would probably be impractical. :-)
BobTheBuilder
Yes, at some point bobthebuilder, we will add a player rating function where you can vote for all the players and as you say, end up with a far more accurate picture.
The Fear
Competition for places is clearly a wonderful thing. Both Stan Petrov and Nigel Reo-Coker are both now playing at the top of their game, and as long as that continues, there can only be one winner. NRC deserved to win the vote, he was head and shoulders above all others.

They weren't a bad little side though were they? In the end, their failings cost them dear, but for a time, they had us on the rack.
