Craig Gardner Pens New Villa Deal

Craig Gardner Pens New Villa Deal

It has been announced that Craig Gardner has signed a new four year deal

The 21-year-old midfielder has become the latest player to commit his future to the club.

Gardner spoke of his delight to the Official Site, saying - 'I am ecstatic - really buzzing. It is fantastic to sign for another four years. Sometimes I have to pinch myself - coming through the academy ranks and playing for the club I support. It's a fantastic place to be and the team, including both players and staff, get on so well as a unit.'

Craig has proven to be quite a player so far in his career with a wicked shot, high work-rate and he appears to be somewhat of a free kick specialist.

'It is a great atmosphere and at the moment we are getting some great results. I think the sky's the limit here. I love playing for Villa - whether it be from the start or coming off the bench. You know what you're going to get from me and that's nothing less than 100 per cent.'

No doubt this lad has something about him, and all that time he spent at right back will hopefully have done him some good, he still has alot to learn but it would appear Martin O'Neill is willing to give him all the time he needs. A future Villa captain perhaps?

Chris its Gardner,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I keep spelling it wrong and getting told off..... Great for players to come through the youth team. For the top four clubs I wonder how many players have ever seen their youth teams?

Highly talented individual. Not yet a 'name' player, but certainly a youngster with the ability to push his way into the starting line up, and once there, take some shifting. Capable of providing options not in the make-up of our other midfielders. Hopefully Craig will enjoy a run in the team this season, get a chance to prove to one and all, just how he'd progressing and developing.

And word has it, that his younger brother Gary, is an even better prospect. All Hail the Gardner boys!
