A Post Match Interview With A Spurs Fan

Following the game, do you feel it was a fair result?

As I said on my Spurs front page article, Spurs were lucky to lose only 2-1. The result from Villa`s point of view was not fair as 4 or 5 nil would have been a better representation of the game.

Did any of the Villa players surprise or impress you?

The whole team impressed me as they were too good for Spurs on the night. In particular, I thought Gareth Barry made the game look so easy.

How do you feel about Ramos after the defeat? Will he be given time to turn it around?

It is not just this defeat; I never have been convinced by Ramos. Tottenham do have a habit of sacking managers early on in the season and I would expect him to be gone if Spurs are still in the bottom 3 after 10 games.

How well do you feel Spurs will do this season?

At the moment I would take anything outside the relegation Zone. However, I would still like to think that we could get inside the top 10.

How well do you feel Aston Villa will do this season?

I do not see anyone breaking into the top 4. However, Villa will surely be a strong contender for 5th place.

Do you think Spurs will win the game at Villa Park in March?

On the basis of last night performance, not a cats chance in hell!

And finally, is there anything you would like to add?

Yes I would like explain my comments on my first interview.

I honestly meant my comments to be a wind up and get people talking. I must say that at the time, I thought it would be good for the Vital website. On reflection, I was wrong!

I therefore apologise to fear and the rest of the Vital Villa website for any of my remarks that were received in a different manor than intended.

Finally, I think you have a very good side and as visitor to places such as Aldridge, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull, the Greater Birmingham area is not a bad place at all. Just keep me away from the M6 ?

I look forward to doing an interview in March with you guys.

Many thanks to Paxton53 of Vital Spurs for his interview.

A fair assessment and a good interview. Takes alot of balls to do an interview following the debate his last one caused. Good luck to Spurs this season.

I am fed up of impulsive Spurs fans. Watching last night the difference between the two teams was continuity. Villa have had stability for a couple of years now with O'Neil and Lerner. This has also been reflected in the squad as they only make a couple of early additions each transfer window. I am confident that what we are seeing know is a direct result of the whacky races that occured through the revolving door at Spurs this year, sacking the manager would only add to the chaos. If we are still in this mess in January/February then we re-assess. When this team finally click, and I'm sure that will be soon, they have the potential to be devasting. Villa showed what stability brings, you mix it with hungry, skillful, young players and the end result is a strong team to challenge the top 4. Come on Spurs, keep your heads while those around you lose theirs. Spurs always.

Well said Mozspur, i think the club need to show some faith in Ramos, he will turn it round, he is just trying to build a team with some good players. Bentley and Gomes should be awesome acquisitions, another defender and you will have it cracked.

Well done Villa, stability is the key and that is what Martin O'Neil has done to your talented team where as our team are still experimenting at the beginning of a season when this should be done either at the training pitch or pre-season. We have some great players but they do not gel....yet....I think we'll be OK this season but the fact we keep changing our players, formations and even managers has not helped..we definitely need some stability !!!!!!

yep better second interview, can't disagree with much here. Ramos does need time with his team. Amazing how quickly spurs expectations have dropped since the start of the season. Why oh why is bentley played on the left. Anyhow c'mon harewood get it together for uefa, this is your chance

Hope the humble pie tasted nice. Not so sure that it would have been eaten if the team wasn't so easily beaten.

Fair play on an honest interview. As said above, if Spurs gel there's the potential for them to be a devasting just takes time, and that is something you don't get much of in the Premier League.

They looked half decent going forward but without Ledley they will concede more than us ( which is saying something.)

wow, there is an article i wasnt expecting to see when i logged on, good luck for the rest of the season. i think people here have already put their finger on the truth, spurs have some excellent players, but they need some time to play together.

well, an excuse like the team has to play more often is not good enough. Ramos is a good manager, he should know better. and i find the excuse rather pathetic. look at MON, he bought our most expensive player ever, Milner. but he is sticking to the old players first before letting the new ones have a go.

Agree with Gruck there. I also think if the game was closer (which the score didn't accurately reflect) our clubs wouldn't be so nice to each other right now! I find it humorous that it's so buddy buddy when before the game it was at eachothers throats. I obviously have no problem with it but the fact is if we didn't blow Spurs away to the point where they had a huge reality check, it would have been a bunch of "you got lucky Villa blah blah blah" - but it's nice to hear the truth from the horses mouth!

Devastating WHEN they Gel and if they get time to Gel. Pre-season all summer long they have been saying Top 4 for us this year, and it was the same last year. Still they have a poor defense and an even worse keeper than Paul Robinson, they will finish above the relegation zone....they have to, after the amount of money spent...dont they? The 2 big signings are no where near the quality of Berbatov and Keane, a weak midfield without Jenas, weak defense without both Woodgate and King and we know these 2 are very injury prone. Keeper is on a confidence low (just like Robinson). This could all add up to how badly they played on Monday which does not bode well for the rest of the season.

Thought initially that it was very much a case of Paxton53 having to choke on a rather large slice of humble pie, but I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt, he certainly comes across as a genuine sort. Top Man Paxton53. After your first tongue in cheek interview, it obviously wasn't easy to return to not only explain yourself, but also to do an about turn of sorts following Monday evenings reversal.

I think that their summer signings were always going to be something of a gamble. Name players certainly, but equipped and prepared for the premier league? Well that was always a key question. Their supporters though always remind me of this lot across the city. Plenty of summer hot-air, which tends to fade away once a ball is kicked.
