John Carew Should Be Fit For The Baggies

The official site say that John Carew is hopeful of being fit in time for Sunday's game against local rivals West Bromwich Albion.

The Hulk, who appeared to twist his ankle during the 2-1 win over Spurs on Monday night, won't travel with the team for the UEFA cup game this Thursday but Villa stress this is simply a 'precautionary measure'.

When big JC is in the side - we are such a better team. I think we showed that last night when he went off. Will the Hare step up to the plate on Thursday now in his absence?

'John Carew is the single most important player to aston villa. if he gets injured it will affect us more than any other player'... discuss.

I agree with the above comment,I also reckon in time milner could be turned into a good striker.

I hope the guys fit, hes such a good honest bunch of lads. I was worried when he limped off.

We definatly can't afford to lose the big man as he is a very important peice of our jigsaw.Never thought i would hear myself saying this but i think Heskey would be a good signing as then we could rest Carew if needs be or if he gets injured Heskey can step in and we dont have to change our game.

As a Baggie I hope Carew won't make it - the big man is a class act and a handful for any top flight defence, let alone Meite & Barnett! Should be a good match, you look to have a bit too much about you for us to stop the 23-year trend, but I live in hope,

'precautionary measure'. That has prevented the player travelling to Bulgaria, now thats what you call precautionary.

Hopefully he will be fit for Sunday, if not, we'll miss him. When he went off, we lost our way a little, with no one to hold the ball up. Such an important and valuable member of this MON team.

Big JC is often under-rated and under valued by a few, who think that if he's not getting his name on the scoresheet, then he's not contributing. That observation is so, so wrong.

He certainly seems settled at Villa Park, his reputation as a journeyman somewhat shot to pieces.
