James Milner Voted Best Summer Signing

James Milner Voted Best Summer Signing

Vital Villa asked in our last poll, who do you think was our best summer signing?

The clear favourite, with 40%, was James Milner, who moved from Newcastle much to the disgust of Kevin Keegan!

Next up was the permanent signing of former West Bromwich Albion defender Curtis Davies (22%) and with 15% veteran former Blackburn Rovers keeper Brad Friedel.

Former Ranger's defender Carlos Cuellar enjoyed 12% of the vote.

Leaving:

Nicky Shorey (3%)
Luke Young (3%)
Steve Sidwell (3%)
Brad Guzan (2%)

If you have any polls you wish to ask, feel free to use the 'suggest a poll' link on the right hand side or email me (use the envelope icon by my name) with what you want asked. I've basically run out of inspiration for questions!

I think Sidwell will be worth a lot more than his 3% once he gets going...

What a nice problem we have had this T window! So many good signings, we had dificulty choosing the best one! I personally think it was very close between Friedel and Milner. They are both players that will influece the result in games, and win or save points for us. I voted for Milner, because I like his attitude and play so much. But on second thought, I think that Friedel will have the biggest influence. Simply because I think if he was in goal last year, we would have had at least 5 points more in the bag, and would have finished 5th. That is water under the bridge now, but I am sure he will do the same for us this year! But actually, all the signings were VERY GOOD IMO!

The thing is ask in ten years, and we could all be saying Guzan, he will step up in two years and could be number one for well over a decade!! I voted Davies, i think he is well on his way to breaking into the England side, every time I see him, I think he has improved, he seems to get better game by game!! Keeping Barry could be a boost for us too.

This was a very difficult choice to vote on, because we've not only brought in some decent names, but also a fair amount of quality too. can see why Milner would top the poll, but there is a case to be made for each and every one of our summer signings.

The completion of the permanent signing of Curtis Davies will, I somehow think, be looked back upon in a few years time, and viewed as a major piece of business by MON and the club. A young man definitely destined for the very top.
