Sidwell Broken Again

Steve Sidwell`s comeback from injury suffered a set back, as he picked up an injury in the reserve team game against Stoke City.

The summer signing from Chelsea featured in the pre-season and Inter Toto cup matches, however has been sidelined more recently with a calf injury. In his return from sick leave, it is believed that Sidders picked up a knee injury during Villa`s 2-1 reserve victory over Stoke City.

So far no information has been given on a potential return date as he continues to keep Wilfred Bouma company in the treatment room.

Not good news this lad need to get back to fitness and start scoring goals from midfield as no1 really contributed last year. Milner might pop up with a few tho mind.

A bit surprised by this. He was obviously injured last week, however this week he has come out saying he's fit and raring to go....very strange!!
In MON we trust!
It's a good job we have Barry then!

You can't blame the lad for wanting to stay home with his mrs.
johnnyuk
Oh well, at least it gives Petrov more time to cement his place in the team to give Sidders an even tougher task to get into the starting XI
GCR_villlan
Why was the injury announced so late. Hope he hasn't thrown a wobbly when told to play for the reserves like Berger....
Villan444
God he is not one these player that plays once a month is he
one match ban
Surely he spent all last season playing for Chelsea reserves so it can't be that he threw his toys out his pram can it?
Adam Deuce
of course he didn't throw his toys out of the pram. He knows he needs these reserve games to get match fit. C'mon lads, enough of the conspiracy theories already!
jonah
I shouldn't think so cynically but can't understand why it was announced so late. We didn't have a game at the weekend so its not as though MON was saving him for a suprise secret weapon inclusion. Can't wait for him to shake up the other midfielders as Petrov and Nige (last week) have both upped their games to stay in contention due to the competition.
Villan444
Definitely a frustrating time for Steve, and for the club also. He'll be fit and firing on all cylinders before we know it, and I'm sure he'll prove his worth to this exciting looking outfit that MON is putting together.

No, enough of all the conspiracy talk. There was a guy at the reserves the other evening (against Tottenham) telling anyone who would listen that it was a more serious knee injury that the club were letting on, and that all would be announced/revealed in the course of the next few days. We're still waiting man in the 'Rover' home shirt.
