Villa Reserve Team Announced

Carlos Cuellar continues his push for first team glory in tonight`s home game against Spurs` second string.

The Spanish centre-back, a summer signing from SPL side Glasgow Rangers managed 90 minutes last week in Villa Reserve`s 2-1 victory over the equivalent Stoke City side, who just about managed to avoid using the long-throw tactic of their first-teaming counterparts.

Martin O` Neill told avfc.co.uk of his hopes for Cuéllar being ready to push into the first team in an attempt to add some quality competition for Martin Laursen and Curtis Davies:

"He's a strong centre-half. He played a big part in Rangers' run to the UEFA Cup Final last year. He played exceptionally well in that.

"He hasn't got any particular frills about his game but I think that he is strong, he wants to compete and, as importantly, he wants to go and see if he can make it in the Premier League."

Alongside Cuéllar stands fellow first teamers Marlon Harewood, Wayne Routledge, Isaiah Osbourne and up-and-coming star the Fonz (Delfouneso.)

Villa Reserves: Parish, Lichaj, Clark, Herd, Knight, Cuéllar, Routledge, Osbourne, Harewood, Delfouneso, Stieber.

Subs: Albrighton, Dau, Bannan, Mikaelsson, Roome.

So Villans, why not get yourselves down to Villa Park tonight? The details, as reported on Vital Villa previously are as follows:

FREE access to newly refurbished McGregors suite, Trinity Road Stand from 5.30pm onwards for first 200 season ticket holders. No bookings but places available on a first come, first served. Cash bar and buffet facility available.

General Admission- turnstiles C1 to C6 (Trinity Road Stand) open 6pm. Free entry season ticket holders. Non season-ticket holders £2 adults/£1 under 16s and over 65s. Catering facilities will be open.

All stadium car parks are available to use, again on a first come, first served basis.

How about Baker?

I'm a bit worried why Sidders isn't playing?!!? He's stating he can't wait to play another reverse game before Monday and then he's not in the squad. lets hope he hasn't broken down again!
In MON we trust!
I would go but I am watching Cloverfield on DVD.

No Steve Sidwell, no Adam McGurk. Frustrating time for Sidwell, while hopefully young McGurk is still very much on course following his injury set-backs. Still a strong reserve team, will be good to catch a first glimpse of Carlos.

Forget the television, the household chores, the better half, etc. etc., get yourselves down Villa Park and give the youngsters a cheer.
