Legend Taylor To Defy Gravity

Ian Taylor will defy gravity this Saturday and undertake a freefall skydive from 10000 feet. Why you ask? To raise money for Acorns!

Taylor, used to going from box to box at 120mph will now go at that speed vertically for the Club's official charity partner.

He isn't doing it on his own though, he's not quite that mad. He'll be strapped to a professional parachute instructor throughout the descent, which incidently is the only way to jump from such a height without training to be a professional.

The dive is taking place at the Skydiving Centre at Hinton Airfield in Brackley and kicks off, well jumps off between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Speaking on the official site without so much as a quivering lip, Tays said:

'It is going to be amazing and I'm feeling fine at the moment - but I'm sure I'll be nervous on the day.

'The main thing is that the money goes to a really worthwhile charity.

'I was so impressed with the football club when it announced its partnership with Acorns so I am delighted to be doing my little bit to help.'

Ian Taylor is a top, top man. He never let us down on the pitch, and he's still doing the club justice even now.

The next time folks see him in the stands with his fan cap on, make sure you show your appreciation.

Good guy, i love to see players useing their fame/cash for good causes. I would also like to mention that Ulysses de la Cruz has done an enormous amount of charitable work in the region he grew up in - including the construction of a hospital!

What a guy! The size of Tays' balls are exceeded only by the capacity of his heart.

skydiving from 10000 feet will be nothing to someone used to walking on water.

What a co-incidence, I will be skydiving from Hinton too. I was going to be doing it this Saturday but due to family commitments I had to postpone to next weekend. That would have been something though, jumping with 'our' Ian.

I see Tayls has now had to postpone because of the weather, maybe I will be jumping with him next week :-)

Always one to throw himself wholeheartedly into something is our Ian. Good Luck to him, typical of the man.

I often wonder if the likes of Ian Taylor, pro's with big hearts, are probably more commonplace in the game than we are actually led to believe? Maybe footballers aren't all the self-indulgent, money-grabbing individuals that they are portrayed to be.
