'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Mule Heskey To Villa? Gulp?!

Apparently Stan Collymore has just said on Talksport that Villa, along with Spurs, want to talk to .....

drum roll.....

Emile Heskey....

NOOOOoooooooooo!

The 30-year-old is a big bruiser of a player, with the right supply and on his day he can be great, but as others far greater than me have said, the player doesn't believe in himself and that has stopped him from going on to be a great striker.

His strike rate is also poor:

Heskey, if fit, might not actually be a bad shout. Our supply might get him going. Trouble is he spends half his time injured.

Leicester 154 games 40 goals, so not far shy of 1 in 4 (poor ratio)
Liverpool 150 games 39 goals, so again 1 in 3 1/2 games roughly (poor judging by the quality of players supplying)
City, 68 games 14 goals, he really was pants there, think nearly a whole season with only 1 or 2 goals? less than 1 in 4 (awful)
Wigan, 65 games, 13 goals, 1 in 5 (dire)

Ok, on second thoughts, lets not!

Source wiki and I think that is in all competitions.

I heard he wanted to stop at Wigan!!
Gazvilla
The last day of the transfer window really is one of the most interesting days in the football calender.....where do they get them from??????
imavillan
Please let it be Villa not Spurs!!!...........
Scott Spur
wake me 2moro and say it didn't happen please
happyvillan
I think Heskey would be a bum signing for both of our clubs. I cannot see why anyone at either clubs would even consider him!! If anyone, I hope you get him though as I'm fed up of us being *****, you had a good season last year!
yidomatic
Scott Spur - NO, It should be ' let it be Spurs not Villa. '
villa for ever
happyvillan - time to change your name me thinks
Phartman87
on his day he's great, when he's not he's John Carew :-)
merlin
No no Spurs chaps, we insist, being the gentlemen that we are, after you sirs, after you!!
The Fear
I'll personally pay Spurs to take him so we don't have to...I have 25pounds and a packet of walkers ready salted.
Villa4Europe
By all means Mr Fear, you can have him. The flashbacks of Gregorz Rasiak are unbearable....on second thoughts do you think he's still available ;-)
Phartman87
No, no and thrice no with a big cherry on top.
DoLpHiNaToR
Heskey isn't all that bad..........hes in the England squad,LOL
bellywipes
pleeease MON.NOT heskey and NOT doyle!!! look at the top 4 clubs and they all have a world class striker.we dont.carews too inconsistant and gabbys second touch is ALWAYS a tackle! falcao is a goalscorer but its too late to get him.i'd rather why bought no one, seriously. if i wake up and see heskey smiling in a villa shirt im gonna become a blue nose.
rhymez1
I know you cant swear on the fromntpage but you got to be having a frigging laugh.... Spurs yes Villa Nooooooooooooo
col8
You should be so lucky
worbo
The link makes sense but I would like to think if we HAVE enquired it's a kind of, "Ok, plan A looks unlikely & we're working on plan B but if that goes pear-shaped, how much do you want for him?". That may be what has happened anyway I suppose.
Sheriff Kimbo
**** off. yeah links to barton and heskey, my two most hated players. seriously go away life
ric112
Not sure Heskey is the one, but we do need cover/competition for Carew. With a run in the UEFA Cup (Rangers played 19 European games last season)we will play somewhere in the region of 60 games this season (38 league, 19 UEFA, possibly 12 in the League/FA Cup, that is 69 games). It doesn't matter how you dress it up, we will be lucky to get 40 games out of Carew. I actually think Heskey might be a reasonable shout. M'ON builds his team around a target man and we could struggle if we lost Carew for a period of time.

This is not the big event of the night. The big event is that Premier football absolutely stinks. Instead of dreaming of sqeaking 6th, we and Everton are soon going to find the only thing to compete for in a couple of seasons is an Inter-Toto place. OK for the Fulhams and Wigans of this world whose excitement has always been retaining top division status - but for a proud club of the second city, queuing up behind the Big 4 + City + whoever next is not a sport anymore. Rules have got to be brought in to bring back a more level playing field. Or chuck them all out and let them play Real Madrid and Barcelona and amongst themselves. Bring back the sport, not the mega- rich plaything of football. Randy is great and the nicest multi - millionaire ever, but we are not going to be able to compete. IT IS NOT RIGHT.
stennyvilla
were coming to the end now guys looks like we aint getting any one else in :(
Astonian Villan
I would not change Randy for anything who cares about Citeh,Arsenal and Liverpool should be very afraid.
Pking
im so ******** *****ed off that it is unbelievable ! villa to finish in the top 4 pfah ! no chance ! lets get a bid in for robinho ! bcuz APPARENTLY we the fans have been told oneil has up to 30m on any player if he wants to !!!! get it ******** SORTED ! or our ambitions will become to finish 7th !
villian?umhu
its not right stenny but think of ourselves compared to say, blackburn. anyway, teams can only field 11 players - but there is only 1 martin o'neill
ric112
Ummm.....DOYLE PLEASE
AussieVilla
not exactly his biggest fan although the movies with shrek are okay, think Gabby already got the role of stallion though. Seriously tho wouldn't be the worst signing, definately not the goalscorer we need but better at link play than either Carew or Harewood
AVbornandbred
11ish minutes to go, I don't think we're getting anyone.
gwyllum18
Dont think that there was much in this. Heskey has said he's happy at Wigan, Bruce wants to keep him, and I cant imagine he'd be on Mart's radar. We need another striker, a proven quality finisher to give us options, but Emile hardly fits that criteria.
glensider
Well, we go with what we've got chaps, which overall isn't a bad looking squad. Yes, short maybe up front, maybe missing cover here and there, but it looks a quality squad, one capable of doing the business for the club.
glensider
There was anasty rumour that Newcastle wanted to unload Barton, for obvious reasons. With Everton, you & us at Pompey were listed. Heaven forbid!!!
storagematt
Right. That's it. Let's not talk about transfers until late December. Let the football begin.
olafthegreat
Go and have a look at what o`neill got out of him at leicster,Heskey would be awsome in our team,But i bet a lot of you would rather have the club pay a little brazilian baby who doesn`t really want to play for the club or isn`t really interested in playing football 6 million a year because he is a "big name" and gets you excited for a week or two.I would take heskey over that ***** any day,At least you get someone who gives a ***** about something other than money.
lerneravfc
Seems this rumour was aload of bullocks!!!
