A Mule Heskey To Villa? Gulp?!

Apparently Stan Collymore has just said on Talksport that Villa, along with Spurs, want to talk to .....

drum roll.....

Emile Heskey....

NOOOOoooooooooo!

The 30-year-old is a big bruiser of a player, with the right supply and on his day he can be great, but as others far greater than me have said, the player doesn't believe in himself and that has stopped him from going on to be a great striker.

His strike rate is also poor:

Heskey, if fit, might not actually be a bad shout. Our supply might get him going. Trouble is he spends half his time injured.

Leicester 154 games 40 goals, so not far shy of 1 in 4 (poor ratio)
Liverpool 150 games 39 goals, so again 1 in 3 1/2 games roughly (poor judging by the quality of players supplying)
City, 68 games 14 goals, he really was pants there, think nearly a whole season with only 1 or 2 goals? less than 1 in 4 (awful)
Wigan, 65 games, 13 goals, 1 in 5 (dire)

Ok, on second thoughts, lets not!

Source wiki and I think that is in all competitions.

I think Heskey would be a bum signing for both of our clubs. I cannot see why anyone at either clubs would even consider him!! If anyone, I hope you get him though as I'm fed up of us being *****, you had a good season last year!

The link makes sense but I would like to think if we HAVE enquired it's a kind of, "Ok, plan A looks unlikely & we're working on plan B but if that goes pear-shaped, how much do you want for him?". That may be what has happened anyway I suppose.

Not sure Heskey is the one, but we do need cover/competition for Carew. With a run in the UEFA Cup (Rangers played 19 European games last season)we will play somewhere in the region of 60 games this season (38 league, 19 UEFA, possibly 12 in the League/FA Cup, that is 69 games). It doesn't matter how you dress it up, we will be lucky to get 40 games out of Carew. I actually think Heskey might be a reasonable shout. M'ON builds his team around a target man and we could struggle if we lost Carew for a period of time.

This is not the big event of the night. The big event is that Premier football absolutely stinks. Instead of dreaming of sqeaking 6th, we and Everton are soon going to find the only thing to compete for in a couple of seasons is an Inter-Toto place. OK for the Fulhams and Wigans of this world whose excitement has always been retaining top division status - but for a proud club of the second city, queuing up behind the Big 4 + City + whoever next is not a sport anymore. Rules have got to be brought in to bring back a more level playing field. Or chuck them all out and let them play Real Madrid and Barcelona and amongst themselves. Bring back the sport, not the mega- rich plaything of football. Randy is great and the nicest multi - millionaire ever, but we are not going to be able to compete. IT IS NOT RIGHT.

not exactly his biggest fan although the movies with shrek are okay, think Gabby already got the role of stallion though. Seriously tho wouldn't be the worst signing, definately not the goalscorer we need but better at link play than either Carew or Harewood

Dont think that there was much in this. Heskey has said he's happy at Wigan, Bruce wants to keep him, and I cant imagine he'd be on Mart's radar. We need another striker, a proven quality finisher to give us options, but Emile hardly fits that criteria.

Well, we go with what we've got chaps, which overall isn't a bad looking squad. Yes, short maybe up front, maybe missing cover here and there, but it looks a quality squad, one capable of doing the business for the club.

Go and have a look at what o`neill got out of him at leicster,Heskey would be awsome in our team,But i bet a lot of you would rather have the club pay a little brazilian baby who doesn`t really want to play for the club or isn`t really interested in playing football 6 million a year because he is a "big name" and gets you excited for a week or two.I would take heskey over that ***** any day,At least you get someone who gives a ***** about something other than money.
