James Milner Having Medical?

Looks like Aston Villa have trumped Everton in the chase for Newcastle winger James Milner as the player has apparently met with Villa over terms and is currently having a medical.

The deal could be completed in the next few hours.

tvrwhitey
Well played MON, another young english prospect......If MON plucks a classy striker out before Monday he and Randy deserve a medal for this transfer window.....How mean does our midfield look now!?
son_of_cher
Litex! OMG, more great stuff, i'll be watching Villa in my country! :)
Poncho
Brilliant.
ThirtyOne
Amazing...but hold on, I'm hearing whispers about Arshavin!!!
olafthegreat
Cue numerous barcodes coming on here claiming they've made good money, he's rubbish, never liked him anyway, is a mackem, doesn't deserve to be at a huge world-beating club like Newcastle etc. Wonder if they've bought a trophy cabinet yet.
Mancuni-villa
Newcastle a big club .... dont make me laugh.... lets really P**S em off and go get Owen too .... he only has one year left on his contract
tvrwhitey
I can't remember the last time we signed so many players!!! In fact have we ever signed 8 players in one summer? Milner is a great signing, well in Martin
MattUTV
Done deal!!! Praise the lord. Apparently he was on fire against Coventry.....
nottinghamvillain
Get in ther! does anyone no how much we paid for him?? another two more please now :D
JOHN.CAREWS.CREW
Chuffed to bits with this. I wonder how much weight the Villa fans singing we want our Milner back last season had on his wanting to come to VP? Thought Routledge had a good game last night so all of a sudden we have two right sided players
villatillidie
Happy days, a great signing. Nice one, Martin. Apparently we upped the price to get him after an enquiry from Everton, some reports suggest £12m???
Madirish
Great siging, less of the gloating over Newcastle, it lacks class.
tarzan
YES YES YES !!!!!!!.This is the signing I was looking for for ages well done MON so glad we got Milner and not SWP.
happyvillan
We dodged a bullet with SWP, who was motivated more by money. Despite others, I thought Routledge was crap last night, no end product and a show pony. James is class.
tarzan
Good signing lads, am genuinely gutted with him going. Mike Ashley asset stripping (again) - the bloke is an utter charlatan and an embarassment. Hopefully he'll be sat in the away end with his 'Toon' top on and have to answer some questions on Saturday. It's great being run like a Sports Direct shop...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/aston_villa/7587996.stm So so happy about that - he was a great loan signing, let's make sure he's welcome in what could be our game of the season against Liverpool. Welcome aboard James :o)
ExpatVillaShirt
absolutely love this one, well done MON and randy! UTV
sportyvillain
What a great signing. With Milner and Young as definite starters on most occasions it will be interesting to see how M'ON perms the other 2 midfield spots from Gardner, Osbourne, Petrov, Barry, Sidwell, Okey Cokey and Salifou. Randy has provided the funding. M'ON seems to have bought wisely and we are definitely in with a chance of reaching the top 4 and a good run in any of the cups. So I wonder how the fans feel who couldn't get tickets for Sundays game against Murderpool. Ooooppps sorry my mistake, there are still thousands of tickets left for Sundays game. Still who cares, apperently the Man Citeh game wasn't sold out because of holidays. Blinkin long holidays some people have.
voiceoftheholte
My guess is Barry and Petrov VOTH, Barry is plainly the best of them, whilst Stan's recent performances certainly warrant a start
NorthcliffeBandit
Agreed, Tarzan. I think routledge has clearly got it in him to be a good player but at the moment he seems to have lost his way a bit. It would seem he really needs some match practice under his belt, which is harder when you've got every game in the prem as a big match.
johnnyuk
Are you still harping on about that VOTH? You're a bundle of joy aintcha?
johnnyuk
I know johnnyujk: I reckon VOTH is in the marketting department and needs a bonus to buy the missus a new poodle or he won't be allowed out to watch the matches....;-D
koolbill
lol koolbill. I know I harp on about attendances but maybe it is because Villa fans sing 's**t support to other clubs who do not sell all their tickets. Seems hypocritcal when we can't sell our own. As for the missus, we didn't have our regular seats in the Holte End last night. I treated to her a meal and the posh seats in the new look Trinity. It is a massive improvement on an already top quality match experience. It was very well attended last night but it has the makings of a special venue.
voiceoftheholte
Agreed though VOTH, we should be selling this out easily. Don't care if its on Sky or any other excuse. If supporters only go to 2-3 home league games this year, this should be one of them.
Villan444
yep 444 this is MY game of the season after the Barry saga then MU then Arsenal
scoops
Welcome Home Jimmy M. You have been missed, and are much needed. Great piece of business by MON and co. Worth every single penny of whatever it is we've paid for him. If he's what we need, and what we want, which he most certainly is, you dont quibble about the price.
glensider
A quality proven striker now to give us options, and I'd say that MON has completed an excellent summers work. After a slow start, the man has become possessed, making signings at every twist and turn. All Hail MON!
glensider
LOL Voth. UTV. I'm sure the attendance will grow season on season.
koolbill
Cant imagine for one minute that little Keggy Keegan is too happy about these developments. A case you have to wonder, of the sale being sanctioned without his approval.
