James Milner Hands In Transfer Request

James Milner Hands In Transfer Request

Well this will put the cat amongst the pigeons, or in this case the magpies.

Newcastle winger and reported Villa target James Milner has handed in a transfer request.

Newcastle have now agreed to listen to offers but have warned that interested clubs will have to match their asking price.

A club statement has been released:

Newcastle United can confirm that it has received a written transfer request from James Milner. The club is very disappointed that James sees his footballing future as being away from St James` Park. He is a valued member of the squad and it is only a year ago that he signed an improved long-term contract.'

'We have yet to receive an offer for James that has matched our valuation of the player. However, should such an offer be received then the club would be reluctantly forced to consider it, given James` apparent desire to leave.'

So, what is their valuation and are Villa going to match it? Liverpool has also been linked to the England U21 player.

Our latest poll asks what you think of the potential signing!

I think the question we need to ask ourselves is do we need a Right sided Midfielder? I would be very happy if he signs better then SWP and prob as good as Bentley but without the high profile and arrogance. One of the premier leagues most underrated players for sure.

Let's get in and get him. Fast! If Liverpool start snooping around, you never know what could happen. I def think it's the main priority. A striker can wait til january but we NEED Jmaes Milner.

Lets just hope that Newcastle don't do to us what we did to Liverpoo! If we don't meet their valuation the lad won't go anywhere and he'll have to rot in the reserves. We REALLY need the balance a decent right hand side player would bring and he's young and british! Perfect for MON, Villa, Me and eeeeeveryone i know!
