Sorensen Says Villa Are On The Up

Thomas Sorensen says the changes at Villa Park has given everyone a massive boost.

Bit different to the feeling of doom and gloom surrounding Villa Park last season isn't it?!

The Danish international shot stopper said: 'This season, the change was needed from the top of the club and, when it happened, that was a real massive boost for everyone. Of course, Doug Ellis* did a fantastic job but it was time for a change and that has come, and already a few good players have come into the club.'

(*Lets leave the Doug debate now, he's gone, calm down!)

Adding that the future is indeed, very bright: 'Given time, and with maybe more new players coming in during next summer, I am sure they will get their team in place. I am sure we will get a very good team and that we will be a strong contender for the top half of the table and some success for years to come. '

'Last season, a lot of us weren't happy with things at Villa and were down and it is definitely looking up. It is a big change and we want to be a part of this, where this club is going - so it is up to us to perform.'

He also says the 'new boys' John Carew and Ashley Young have brought a threat which earlier in the season we were so badly lacking 'It provides a big confidence boost for the team, knowing we can score.'

Felt like we were moving horizontally for so long, it's nice that everyone is looking upward. All the pieces seems to be coming together; we just need to score some goals.

Being positive is the name of the game, and when the players are thinking and talking positive, then you know you're on the right road.

glen 100% correct, the bad old days have gone now, there was always a danger people would be looking back to the Herbert years with rose tinted specs, this I feel will never happen if Villa keep going the way they are.

Must also add that Tommy is having a great season in my estimation. He has his critics, but I believe that he's up there with the very best that the premiership has to offer.
