Good grief, just like buses, you wait for ages then two come along at the same time, or so I'm told. I don't do public transport, I'm just too posh!!!!! :o)
Anyway, Villa last night completed the second purchase of the day bringing in a right back.
YES, a right-back!
29-year-old Luke Young joined from Middlesbrough.
The player told the official site that he wasn't going to miss out on the opportunity to move to a club like Villa adding,
'I'm really pleased to be here at Villa. It's happened quite quickly. One minute I was training up at Boro and the next I'm down here for a medical. Obviously I'm glad to be here now but it could have been a year earlier. There was interest last summer but it didn't quite happen for whatever reason. I'm just glad to find myself here now. I think this is a great opportunity for me to try and win something.I think at the minute Villa are a notch above Boro and there's a great opportunity for me to play European football as well.'
He also says, much like Nicky Shorey earlier in the day, that Villa can match his ambitions and is looking forward to playing in Europe.

Vital Villa asked how good a signing you thought Luke Young was. Similar to the Nicky Shorey poll earlier in the day,
76% voted good signing, 15% great signing, 7% poor signing and 2% average signing. So again, the majority seem happy with the arrival.
Gareth Southgate told the Boro official site: "We've had some enquiries from Villa over the last few days and they've come up with an offer that we think is acceptable to us. Sometimes an offer can be one that makes it very difficult to turn down."
