Villa's Uefa Cup Games Switched

Villa's Uefa Cup Games Switched

For some reason UEFA have agreed to the request to switch the home and away legs for the UEFA Cup game between Villa and FH Hafnarfjardar.

Villa were drawn to play at home first and that really should have been that, otherwise what is the point of a random draw?

The first leg is now away on August 14 and will be played at Laugardalsvöllur Stadium in Reykjavík.

The second leg is on August 28.

Well, thats positive, as we won't have to deal with fatigue from travelling at the City game.

MON likes the away leg to be played first, I read that somewhere

Maybe MON didn't want to travel to Iceland 3 days before the huge home game with liverpool

Apparently they are trying to maximise revenue from their home game and are concerned that if we stuff them at VP it will significantly reduce the crowd at the game in Iceland. Unlike the PL where most of a clubs income is sourced from media and not actually from attendances, In Iceland a majority of income is from mtchday revenue.

Brings back very pleasant memories of the tie against Valur of Iceland back in '82. a 6-0 win over the two legs, on the road that very, very memorable, never to be forgotten, sooper-dooper night in Rotterdam. A lucky omen I suggest.
