Davies To Miss Start Of Season........

Not bloody likely! Curtis Davies completed another 62 minutes in last nights friendly against Reading and thoroughly enjoyed the test against Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle as he continues to defy expectations as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Martin O'Neill is still cautious with the player, nobody wants him to breakdown after all this hard work, but Davies is putting him in a position where it's hard not to select him, or think of him as playing a part in our first UEFA match.

Speaking on the official site, Davies said:

'I want to get back as soon as I can and hopefully Saturday's game has given the gaffer some idea of where I am. Now I want to push for that UEFA Cup qualifier.

'I feel good after the game. Obviously Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle were giving us the run-around because that's the type of players they are. They like to get balls down in the channels to keep running at you but that's the type of game I needed.

'The standard of Reading's strikers is the standard you will play against in the Premier League because they're both very good strikers and I feel I came through alright.'

Is it time we nicknamed Davies the Terminator? He just won't stay down!

Its great news, he makes a lot less mistakes than knight and looked good when he had his little cameo before injury struck again.

Fast becoming my favourite player, i love the enthusiasm he has to play football, and you can see this is the type of player MON wants. The way he talked about looking at the new shirt and wanting to play in it was brilliant to hear.

Became a bit concerned when i read the article name lol. His partnership with Laursen with be very important this season, hopefully they can hit off str8 away again! Great news that he is back sooner than expected thou!

He will learn so muh from Laursen, that in a few years time he really will be a top defender! Great for the defenders also knowing that Freidel is behind them in goal, just need a couple of solid full backs!
