Wilfred Bouma's Operation A Success

According to the official site Wilfred Bouma faces between four to six months out following surgery to re-set his dislocated ankle, picked up during the Odense BK game last Saturday.

Villa say the operation was successful and Bouma has had a plate inserted because, as you'll all know doubt know already (cough cough) a natural consequence of dislocating his right ankle is a break at the lower end of the fibula.

Martin O'Neill told www.avfc.co.uk: 'The operation went very well and everybody, including Freddie, is very optimistic he will make a rapid recovery. Freddie's in good spirits. It was a bad injury but with the level of treatment he's had and the post-operative prognosis we've been given, we're all hoping to see him back, perhaps sooner than everyone expected on Saturday night.'

Good luck messages have been pouring in on the Villa forums, including our forum thread >>Click Here and front page >>Click Here get well soon article comments.

I don't know what you're talking about BKKVILLA, we didn't need a right back last year, we don't need a left back this time around! Get well soon Wilf.

Seeing Freddy scream on Saturday, you knew it was going to be bad, the blokes as hard as nails. Lets all hope he has a smooth recovery.

I saw a video of the incident and it was horrible. Here's hoping Bouma recovers well and is back to the wonderful level of play he has maintained over the years.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Really excelled himself for your lot last term. Also hope you get your back line sorted in time for the start of the season.

Dave The Yid, I hope we get a center, left and right back before the uefa deadline. Never mind the start of the season.
BKKVILLA
Ooo, interesting point. When is the UEFA deadline BKK?

Get well soon Freddie. FFS sign some defenders MON!!! We know you will but the suspense is too much.

BKKVILLA - i'm sure we can do some kind of deal involving Stalteri, Lee Y-P and Rocha - I've always thought John Carew would be a great replacement for berbatov! Jokes aside, Rocha would probably be a pretty good player for you. He's had a terrible time with injury at the lane but has looked solid in the few matches he's played

Terrible blow for Freddie, and for the club. A long, hard road lays ahead of him, good luck to him from the glensider household.
