Any that have been missed from this list?
The Fear
Guzan, I suppose you can't include him til the Work permit is done and dusted!
still skeggy
No that's it Hopefully we can get up to the £25m spent in the 1st Season and bidding the £15m for Bentley I hope we surpass this. Well we actually need about 5 or 6 players.
Still-Ian
Well, of all the Out players, I'd only welcome back Melly, and perhaps Cahill as a defensive back-up, but that's it.
Saurat
Im pretty sure Knight joined for £1.5 mill not £3.5
holte_ender8
No knight was actually 3.5 million, would have been nice if it was 1.5 million. To be honest he has got rid of a lot of pooo, and brought in some exceptional players to the squad, now only for him to fill the right back and Temp left back slots, I think we could have a busy fortnight after our qualification!!!!!
erv2005
Just one missing I think - Mark Delaney.
the_lergy
well just looking at that, he has brought the quality of the squad right up, but shouldnt have got rid of rights backs untill replaced!
krisvilla
Someone payed £1mill for Matthieu Berson ? Wow
Randy-Villain3293
Good spot Lergy, how could I have forgotten such a great Villa servant?!
The Fear
Hopefully Guzan can be added after the work permit hearing next Friday Skeggy!
The Fear
£3.5m for Knight is the right amount - or was £4m? Certainly makes the point that few who have left were really star men. I think the Carson loan actually cost us £2m as well.
Gordonsleftboot
it was me
ric112
if 32m is his net spend then he really is a great manager. to take what was a poor aston villa team when he first took over, to where we are now, 6th in the league, and uefa cup football again is just an outstanding achievement. especially when you consider the money pompey, everton, newcastle, and totscum spunk on players.
Stig
Anyone facy doing the other teams transfer expenditure to show a comparison?
son_of_cher
what was you ric112. And no, not me son_of_cher! lol It is a good point though, he has done well with little (comparitavily speaking) mone spent when you look at the likes of Man City, Newcastle etc. It is now time to push the boat out though, the squad (as we all know) is wafer thin.
The Fear
JPA also in the 'outs' - albeit on a free so not that it makes much difference!
YatesyVillain
Total expenditure last two seasons has been £17million-ish, this season it has been £15million on 3 players, so he is spending money and will be spending more than before. He really has done a fine job so far!
JOHN.CAREWS.CREW
I'd forogten we'd spent £85.million on Reo-Coker!!!
murph
£85million Murph? Jeez, the guy was certainly over priced then, must have missed that record transfer! Good call Yatesy.
The Fear
For me question marks need to be placed when we got rid of Cahill and brought in Knight, what the hell was all that about, 32M is what you should be spending in one season if you hope to break into the top 5, Brad Friedel reckons we can get 4th or 5th this season, but if we don't buy atleast 2 full backs and a right midfielder and maybe another Centre half i think you can kiss that good bye, I was there Saturday and Knight isn't the greatest of players and you don't know how long Laursen and Davies can keep clear of injuries, then you have Sidwell who needs a lot of time to settle in, and you need someone who can drive forward in the centre and Sidwell isn't doing it, Barry needs to stay to cover LB, and maybe even push on the left for Young to go behind the strikers or to partner Coker in the centre.
Villa 4 Ever
Sidwell has only been here two minutes Villa 4 Ever, give the guy a break. As for Gareth at left full back, no way. Gareth wouldn't want that either, even if he did decide to stay. He has his England place to think of. No problems from me regarding MON's dealings, either in or out, save the obvious one, of not bringing in enough bodies.
glensider
So if GB eventually goes to LPool or maybe another one of the Top4 clubs who are prepared to pay him what he's worth (ie more than the measly 45k/week he's getting at Villa). The O'Neill will have spent less than £5mill over 3 seasons - big deal! -who's kidding who about wanting to get into Europe?
villacross
ERIK LUND!! Everyone forgets ERIK LUND!!
simonbigron
Goal Keeping positions should be sorted by this friday so thats that. Now to RB.LB,CB,MD,ST two of each please MON.
bellywipes
He's spent more than I thought, to be honest, just looking forward to seeing him spend the same amount again in the next week or two!
