Villa Target Chivas Keeper D-day On Aug 1

Villa will find out if USA keeper Brad Guzan will be granted a work permit so he can complete his transfer to Villa on August 1.

Martin O'Neill has spoken to the official site about the 23-year-old Chivas (Major League Soccer) shotstopper saying:

'The hearing is now next week. It should really have been yesterday but it was postponed for one reason or another. So we've been given an opportunity next Friday to do it.'

'We're hoping that having come so close in January we can get the work permit this time around. I think his situation has improved, certainly on the international scene. He's been playing a lot of games for America now, important matches. He's played World Cup qualifying games and he played the second-half against England at Wembley.'

Adding, 'All told I think his position has improved so fingers crossed that might help but who knows.'

Two balding, American Goalkeepers both called Brad. Hope MON can keep them both as happy as each other and am just confused as to what role Brad junior will play if any atall as I can't see him progressing as a player if he is sat on the bench. OR is Brad senior going to be happy sitting out any games after being one of the first names on the team sheet at Blackburn.

ok, at least its good to know a date when we'll find out, rather than waiting and waiting endlessly without a clue whats going on.

Hopefully no hitches this time, but it seems to me that these panels are a law unto themselves, so maybe we shouldn't count our chickens until everything is done and dusted.

Certainly MON seems pretty confident about the fact that the deal will be given the thumbs up, and by being in attendance over in Denmark last week, it would appear that Guzan is too.
