So When Will Villa Make Their Signings?

So When Will Villa Make Their Signings?

Martin O'Neill has again been peppered with questions about the transfer window and whilst refusing to be drawn on individual players like the Brad Friedel link, he did tell the official site:

'We're in the throes of trying to improve our team and we need to. But I'd prefer to stay rather general on these points and not comment on all the reports and speculation.'

Adding, 'There are things that we want to do and we've got a couple of weeks to try and improve the team - actually we've got to the end of August - but ideally it would be great if the season was kicking-off and we had a number of players in position. We are working as hard as we possibly can do behind the scenes to improve our squad, which we need to, and that hard work will continue.'

Our latest poll, suggested by pksandell asks when you think Villa will make most of their signings!

How many UEFA cup games would we need to win before enetring the group stages? There's a few tough teams in it this year, drawing one of them could easily happen.

I aint holding my breath. I think all these comments are just re-hashed from what he said last summer and we all know what happened (didn't happen?) then.

The poll is very optimistic in not giving an option for not making any signings.

Refering to an article written a couple of weeks back concerning transfer window stress. I got it bad. Today I'm fairly relaxed yesterday I was miserable and the day before that I was a wreck. So with that in mind, today I would estimate 3/4 signings but not before saturday. Yesterday I'd have said 1 but that would be a deadline day signing of no real meaning and the day before that I'd have said ''for ***** sake get some ******* ******* players in before ******* friday or we're rowing up **** creek without a ******* ******* paddle.'' Anyone else feel this way?

Son of Cher we are seeded and our uefa coefficient is 24.966. I won't pretend to understand this but it seems relatively high. Most of the unseeded teams are below 8. WHEN we win on saturday we go into the second qualifying round. After that there is just one proper round before the group stages. Its at the first round proper were the losers of the champions league 3rd qualifying round join. I think thats were it could go a bit pear shaped. See, simple really.

Son of Cher we will go into UEFA in the 2nd qualifying round if we get through that we go into the 1st where everyone who doesnt need to qualify will join, this includes spurs pompy and man city. After the 1st round then its the group games.
