A Close Shave For Villa Fans?

So I was sitting in my living room looking at my hair in the reflection of the kitchen door glass and thinking.

It was about this time last year that I had my last haircut and so my hair is on the long side. I've been thinking about giving it to locks of love, but I don't think its quite up to the 10 inch requirement.

And so instead I'm thinking of getting sponsored to shave it off. Now before you stop reading, as you think I'm about to ask you for money, I'm not, although my next thought was to my extended Villa family.

I want your hair. Now, I'm just throwing ideas around here, but just consider this.

Imagine a video. A compilation of Villa fans. Wearing the villa jersey. Having their heads shaved for charity. Sponsorship from friends and family and villa fans/associates on the whole. I think its a bit of an opportunity.

More very positive publicity for the club. Showing that the charitable nature of the club extends beyond boardroom level.

And yes, the more I write, the more I realise that those of you still reading will be thinking that we should perhaps donate the money raised to Acorns, the organisation already linked with the club. I can't really argue with that, although there's no reason why the love can't be shared around. My proposed charity would be the orphanage/leprosarium at which I volunteered for 5 months last year.



Kojo, and the quads (Kwame, Aine, Rose, Nelly). The quads were born to a mother who knew that she only had breastmilk for one. She chose Kwame (the boy) and the other three were left to die. The two sisters took them in and are relying permanently on donations to keep them in good health.

So I'm calling out to those who feel a little heavy on top to consider that this recent Summer heatwave might feel a bit better with a little less hair. No matter the length, if you've a bit of hair that can be shaved and a villa jersey, you can make a difference. Of course it goes without saying that those who are unable to contribute their hair, can sponsor the rest of the villans that are more follically advantaged.

Once we get a group together, we can sort out sponsorship arrangements.
