'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sidwell Signing Confirmed

Steve Sidwell has officially signed for Villa and told the official site: 'I am over the moon!'

Well, over spaghetti junction anyway (then turn right, don't ever make the mistake of going left!

The club have confirmed that the 25-year-old former Reading and Chelsea man has passed his medical and put pen to paper.

The Ginger Ninja told AVTV Online,

'I am absolutely delighted to join. I am over the moon. It's taken a while but now it's done I am excited and looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting on the pitch and playing football.

'There's been a lot of speculation and rumour about the deal and it has played on my mind a little but I've been professional and kept my head down.

'I am here now and can't wait to put a Villa shirt on and play for the fans. For me personally, it's about getting back and playing. I have had a year of not playing as much as I would have liked so to get out on the pitch is the first aim.'

Best of luck, Siddy.

Great signing.

I'm sure he'll do a good job. Now go and get on that flight to Zurich coz you're bloody late!
Villan-in-Cyprus
Will he be dying his hair or shaving it off as part of the contract?
Villan-in-Cyprus
More of the same ( Or Better ) please MON x
Stourbridge Villan
It would be great if he ended up taking barrys england place.

Cyprus.. You appear to be slightly Oranjephobic. Anyone ever see the Catherine Tate sketch - Gingers For Justice. Patsy Palmer dressed as a Duracell battery. Genius. For the record I am not Ginger. Although I have had a bit of a thing for red headed women of late!! Sidwell For England!
Adam Deuce
Hmmm Oranjephobic? Is that the medical term? I did see that, very funny. Red head is one thing Adam, but ginger is another. He'll just have to be an even better footballer to make up for it lol.

Personally, Sid could have purple hair with light pink spots as long as he plays for the Villa. (Well, maybe that would be a touch girly - how about blue hair with claret spots?) :o)
BobTheBuilder
I'd go for the latter BobTheBuilder:) Does this mean I can't take the p-iss out of gingers anymore?? :(
Villan-in-Cyprus
Sidwell will be good for you. He's a hard worker and will only get better with more first team play.
RadioactiveD
Atleast he doesnt have Ljunbergs hair from back in the old days. I do like ginger ninja though! I think he'll be a fantastic signing and I think Barry should be sweating over that prized England spot.

Lets milk it for all its worth. Been a long time coming. Well worth the wait though in my opinion.

@Adam Deuce - Yeah I saw that. Very funny. Nothing wrong with a bit of ginger. They tend to be a bit fiery so may add some extra steel to our midfield. All the best Ginger one and Welcome

I have visions of murph thumping you one Villan-in-Cyprus. Your bias against gingers wont go down to well with him. If I were you, I'd be glad I was over there, out of reach of our murph.

I'm sorry murph, I didn't mean to be offensive. I love a good carrot-top really . . . honest! Don't grass on me glensider.
