Moore And Laursen In Reserves

Villa reserves take on Fulham tonight at Villa Park (kick off 7pm).

Luke Moore and Martin Laursen are both pencilled in as they look to gain match fitness following shoulder (Moore) and knee (Laursen) operations.

Patrik Berger and Isaiah Osbourne are also set to play in what should be a fairly strong line up.

Martin O'Neill said of Moore, who has some tough competition in the first team squad now with the arrivals of Maloney, Carew and Young: 'He'll get another game under his belt tonight, on a better surface. Walsall have done great for us, but they've got their own season to worry about.'

Oh, and don't panic about Berger playing the reserves, he volunteered this time! O'Neill added: 'He put himself forward for the game. We haven't got too many matches at first-team or reserve level coming up and he was keen to play, which is good to see.'

Meanwhile Gabriel Agbonlahor has been forced to pull out of the England under-21 squad with a calf injury. The move, according to the official site, is 'precautionary' and the player has returned to Bodymoor Heath to receive treatment.

Looking forward to seeing the game, evaluating the progression of Luke and Martin's recovery. Good old Patrik Berger some say. Others tell the truth. No, he seems to have come back from his banishment to the potteries with renewed vigour and a different attitude. Well done to him.

Luke moore hot to trot, wonder how long before MON sticks him back in the first team?

Gabby pulling out of Stuart Pearces squad probably isn't a bad thing, as long as its not a serious injury of any sort of course. Its obvious to all I think that going by his recent performances, the strain of the season is starting to tell, and a break will do him no harm at all.
