Which Keeper Would You Like At Villa?

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Eircol,

Which keeper would you want as number one next season?

Celtic shot stopper Artur Boruc was favourite with 32%.

Spurs and England keeper was next up just 1% behind (31% for those that can't do the maths!).

Our very own Stuart Taylor got 10% and West Ham's Robert Green followed with 8%

Only 6% voted for Man Utd's Ben Foster (linked to a loan this week) and 5% for Carlo Cudicini of Chelsea.

Brad Guzan (3%), Joe Hart (3%), Scott Carson (1%), Other (1%)

Our latest poll asks if Steve Sidwell is a good signing or not, yes, I am short on inspiration!

Ha ha ha ha ha...please...stop...ha ha ha ha ha ha...too funny...ha ha ha...
didn't we have the same poll about 3 polls ago about whether sidwell would be a good signing? Anyone who says he is great is a muppet. Henry or van der vaart would be a great signing. Surely sidwell is a good signing but not great.
I know, it's hilarious how many honours these players win in Scotland, only to be found out as the average joes they are when they come to the premier league. So funny. Even Rod Wallace was top scorer in the SPL. hohohohohhehehehehaha...too funny....
It's funny isn't it, 2 years back he was hot property, he'd come off the back of being one of a couple of players who'd turned relegation fodder into european hopefuls, plus being an absolute goal machine in the championship the year before. I'm quite optimistic about this signing to be honest, he could be the townsend for the new generation.
robert green, ridiculously under rated
evoflash, it is funny how MON got Celtic to a UEFA cup final & 9 unbeaten CL home games but reckon he will struggle to get Villa anywhere other than intertoto cup :) You can't polish a turd. Even Barry realises it. :)
p.s. This is getting dull. We all know that Boruc wouldn't move to villa even if you could afford him.
Larsson, I reckon if we sell any more players, we'll have enough cash to buy the entire league!
Larsson, we could afford him but MON has his own valuations of players and knows the reported 15m valuation is over the odds. I know we have done the same with Barry but if the scousers are daft enough to pay it then so be it. Anyway I totally agree with Stig, Rob Green would be immense for us, go get him MON. 10m would be value for money anything less would be a steal.
evoflash, if thats the case you should buy the whole Celtic team cause we are more capable than you at beating your League winners man utd and europe's best milan etc. Don't think it would happen though cause you can't replicate greatness. Good luck buying marlon harewood types at last minute with this mass amount of money you claim.
boruc wouldnt leave for villa as he said he would only leave celtic for a top european for the villa wanting 18mil of liverpool for barry...fekin right they should demand that as liverpool put ridiculous prices on their own players ...10mil for carson ,16 mil for alonso .....have you been smoking crack rafa benitez....?
notthedougellisstand, MON has done right thing with this Barry saga. You should bite their hand off wih the 15 mill offer.
Looking forward to the SPL kickoff? B I G games against St. Mirren, Dundee Utd, and Falkirk! Thrilling!!! Enjoy your dozen CL games.
Larsson, I know he has done the right thing. Just saying he isn't worth it
Larsson your vital site must be as boring as your league, are you here for a bit of excitment?
evoflush.... that's 12 more CL games than your least !
Can I say which goalkeepers I dont want to see at B6, it'll be easier to respond? No Robinson, no Guzan. Right, next question please.
Thought of one. Robert Green. Not likely to happen, but Robert Green, with ST as back-up.
I can say with much confidence that Robbo will not be joining Villa, its pretty obvious.
lol is it time for yet another celtic v villa slanging match already?
Of course the Auld Firm do well in Europe - European matches are the only games they have to actually play in, rather than strolling round the park on a Saturday afternoon against teams that would struggle in League One. You Scotties should try playing in Europe while you play against decent opposition week in, week out, then see how you get on. Your lot would be knackered after the third game! :o)
We are still better than aston villa though mate. Our european results show that besides even the huns would beat england's 7th best team. :)
In your league, tell us what European honours you have. These are the teams against which you week-in, week-out measure yourselves..Lets see, in the European Cup, Scotland has produced one winner, and one finalist. Celtic (good work lads - little known fact, I a Villa/Celtic fan [queue the abuse and banishment]). So no other team has managed a final of the CL. England has delivered eleven wins, and five finalists.......................... Uefa cup? Scotland manages three losing finalists, England also has three losing finalists. Their six winners make up for it I said.....enjoy your dozen games ;-p. If Villa could play Falkirk, St Mirren and Inverness Caledonian Thistle every week, I'm sure our very well rested players would manage a dozen CL games too :) (mind you we'd only have about a dozen players in the squad so may not be quite correct). :-D . Oh, and yes Celtic are amazing at home. What happens on the road lads? Spineless teams can't win away. Let's hope that home form doesn't go anywhere soon ;-)
You sound like an idiot. Nobody would argue that the SPL is stronger than the EPL. Bigger country, bigger tv revenue etc. But Celtic are bigger than perennial mi-tablers villa. Club stature doesn't really need argued, we have bigger stadium, world-wide fan base,,,list goes on. But footballing quality wise we would pump you too. You are dreaming if you think villa could qualify for last 16 in CL or beat Milan, mufc, valencia, munich in current times because you struggle against EPL's bottom teams. Despite your mammoth wealth you struggle to sign decent players, infact your best ones walk out e.g. barry. Just accept it and pray one day that MON gets you into the CL with Europe's best clubs the calibre of Celtic. p.s. Boruc doesn't want a step down - fact.
Rangers did better than you in Europe didn't they?
Let's be honest here, if Celtic were playing in the real Premier League week in-week out, they'd have to wave goodbye to E
Oops I hadn't finished - wave goodbye to European football. I think Celtic would be another Boro or another Newcastle (another team who think they're bigger than they actually are). Hey we can beat Inter Milan too by the way, 3-0 if I remember rightly.
was that not a friendly pre-season match ? And Italian league starts weeks after EPL. Doesn't really count the same as a competitive CL game. The facts speak for themselves on how we are bigger than villa, newcastle etc but hey don't let that get in the way of some dreaming. All fans do it. Good signig with sidwell but will take more than him for you to achieve anything.
The huge advantage that your team has, Larsson, is that you only have to pump your players up for half a dozen games each season. You simply can't compare the two teams because of the totally different environments. Let's face it, when your players trot out every week against Motherwell and Kilmarnock, how hard can it be to motivate them against ManU, Liverpool or Milan. It helps not to be knackered from playing really tough games every week - against so-called mid-table no-hopers such as Aston Villa, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and so on and so on. No comparison.
